Gamethread: Warriors at Hornets
No rest for the vets tonight; can Kuminga break into the rotation?
There was a point in the previous game against the Miami Heat where Stephen Curry attempted to throw an allez-opp to Klay Thompson. Thompson, fresh off two major surgeries and still working his way back into form made a valiant effort at it, but… no.
The play didn’t work out, but it was meaningful because of how limitless these guys see themselves. Come back off two surgeries to help your team win a championship? Do it again the next season? Win with a championship core while also developing a youth movement that’s still a ways out? Anything and everything is possible!
The Warriors now travel to Charlotte for the front end of a back-to-back (facing the Detroit Pistons tomorrow). Did they figure out the winning formula again? Only one way to find out!

The developmental logjam that kept Kuminga on the bench
The Warriors won, so coach Steve Kerr wasn’t getting questioned about much, butone area that had raised some eyebrows was the absenceof one Kuminga.
It’s a “positional logjam” sure, but of all the people to bench, it's a bit surprising to see one of the teams most exciting young guns kept on the bench.
Beyond that, there’s not much changing for the Warriors tonight. Keep your eyes peeled for tomorrow night though, as it’s expected that Kerr will probably rest some guys on the tail end of this back-to-back
The three consensus Western Conference favorites have all scuffled out of the gate:
DEN 4-3 (incl. losses to UTA, POR, LAL)
GS 3-4 (incl. losses to DET & CHA)
LAC 2-4 (incl. B2B losses to OKC)
Phoenix looking pretty great so far, but I don’t fear them.
Well shit, games PPV only today. Guess I can get some chores done.
