Game Thread: Four Celtics, Poole out as Covid continues to punch above its weight class
Warriors start of East Coast back-to-back as league struggles to cope with Covid impacts
The Golden State Warriors are set to play the Boston Celtics tonight apparently. As with most of the world, the NBA is getting rocked by Covid right now, with approximately 10% of the players currently out due to Covid and/or mandated quarantine.
The Warriors will be without Jordan Poole. Though it isn’t yet clear if he tested positive or is out due to contact tracing or an inconclusive test, he’s going to miss today and tomorrow’s games at a minimum.
Tonight, it looks like coach Steve Kerr has chosen to let rookie Moses Moody start in place of Poole. Kerr generally likes to keep his bench unit rotations stable, but one way or another, this is a great shot for Moody.

The Celtics have it worse.
The most current injury report looks like a paragraph. Also, for those who mentioned it in today’s preview thread, you can see that the Celtics two-way player is now listed as in. They’re going to be awfully shorthanded tonight.
Under happier circumstances, I’d be wondering about how the non-Curry minutes will hold up without Poole. Though his shooting has been a little hit or miss, his ability to create his own shots has been a tremendous asset. Now? I’m just hoping everyone is going to be ok.
Regardless, happy Friday!

Last night's top highlight on NBA Top 10: Iguodala's lob to GP II for the alley-oop.
Lowlight: Announcer: "That's right, the 'junior glove' sitting in at number one."
So long as we get 30+ minutes from Moody & JK, I'm happy. But I'm surprised they are resting Andre AND OPJ at the same time. Point of having depth is you can you can always have one of those guys suited up. I think what Kerr is showing is that without Poole (on a Curry rest night), they really don't think they have a chance to keep the game competitive.
