*Wilt had five other games of 70 or more points, with TS% of 73.4, 71.1, 64.4, 61.9, and 51.6
The last one looks like a real stinker - 78 points but on 62 FGA and 32 FTA!
So Bam's big game is on the lower end of the TS%. Really impressive were the games by Luka, Lillard, Mitchell, and Thompson. It's possible that the TS% would be a little higher for Thompson and Baylor since their highest-scoring games were before the 3-point shot.
But the game that stands out the most to me was Aaron Gordon's mere 50 points against the Dubs at the beginning of the season. 17/21 from the field, including 10/11 from three, and 6/6 from the line - TS% 105.8!
And Steph has had 25 games with a TS% of over 90. Wonder how many he could get if they just let him go one-on-one and the other squad refused to double-team him like the Wizards did with Bam.
Giannis out against the Hawks. They're going to be 6 or 6.5 games out of 10th (Charlotte) in the East, and I think it's almost time for them to throw in the towel. Even with our upcoming schedule, I don't think we can 'make up' 5 games on them.
The 11th pick is probably our 'ceiling' this year, but our 'floor' is still undetermined. I have a feeling it'll be 12th at worst, since both conference play-ins (8-10, at least) are still in flux, so all the teams ahead of us should still be trying to win until the very end.
Is KP going to end up playing more games post-trade than JK this year? Haven't been watching closely, but seems like Jon is still missing a lot of games
The Golden State Warriors are signing former Heat and Jazz center Omer Yurtseven to a 10-day contract, agents Keith Glass and Luke Glass tell ESPN. Yurtseven spent the season in the Euroleague before joining the G League last week, posting 36 points and 12 rebounds Friday night.
On Bassey: [[ The Boston Celtics plan to sign Charles Bassey to a 10-day deal, league sources told @hoopshypeofficial.bsky.social. Bassey has averaged 4.3 points on 63% shooting from the field and 4.3 rebounds in 11.1 minutes during five combined NBA seasons with the Spurs, Grizzlies, and 76ers.]]
Porzingas looked really good. Second best player in the game after Ant-man. Though with his lower minute load, I gave Podz my Warrior Wonder vote. Leons looked green but had some really good moments for a G-league call up. Though at 26 y/o you have to figure this is already close to his peak.
We had some pretty bad transition defense and several lineups completely lacked the size to defend Minny's guys—even when we had Post or Porzingas out there, the next tallest guy was not enough to handle the switch; having Draymond or Al could have helped there. I spotted a play or two where poor communication/coordination between Podz and Porzingas cost us a basket; that could certainly improve if they have more time to practice and get to know each other. On offense, we still had the well-known structural issue that all the offense initiators on the team are out, so it was difficult to create good looks in the paint—but timely rolls by GP2 worked several times, so that's something.
Overall, you can see a lot of potential but the available roster has some extremely obvious holes in the shape of the injured players. If we could get Steph and Jimmy both back for the playoffs, I would like our chances. But since that's impossible, it's gonna be a struggle.
The team hardly ever does this (when was the last 10-day that didn't come from Santa Cruz?).
Maybe they've got a big at Santa Cruz they could sign, but I'm guessing they just wait until Dray and Post come back. Neither sound like long-term problems, necessarily. Horford is a little more worrisome.
Given the condition of the team I am just proud of how hard they are playing and the opportunity this gives the younger and newer players to shine and develop. They are playing with fight and grit going into a gauntlet thst even the best team would find challenging.
I am delighted to see Porzingas getting his groove back. And i will say that PODZ has been the glue that has held us together often without proper acknowledgement.
This next ten days, starting tomorrow...I just hope we have uninjured players at the end of it and a surprise win or two. Soldier on.
I mean they went into the season with their three best players turning 38, 36 and 36 in season, a key role player turning 40, another with a long injury history coming off a torn ACL and then traded one of their young players for someone with a long injury history and a mysterious condition. So frankly it should be priced in.
Will they do this again next season? Rumours of Kawhi and LeBron and Dunleavys track record of big acquisitions being CP3 and Jimmy (and targeting of PG3) suggest hell yes. The chances of a similar scenario playing out this time next year seem pretty nailed on tbh.
Maybe lightening strikes and it all works out. But personally I’m looking to the summer of 2027 as the reset chance. Too bad Steph will be 39 turning 40 by then.
At least they refuse to trade draft picks so we’ll have a top 12 pick this year and probably next year too. Brayden Burries looks interesting in that range.
Both of those guys can still play, and after Chris Paul, I figure I would eventually make my peace with rooting for them. But as things stand now, I don't ever need to see either in a Warrior uniform. YMMV.
I would say the silver lining is that their younger players including Podz, Santos, and Richard are getting a lot of playing time in the absence of the vets so if the Warriors do just run it back next year they will have experienced players that they can plug in. FWIW, Pat Spencer with all his limitations has been the best backup PG the Warriors have had since Livingston and maybe Cryer is a little better. Really it just depends on Steph Curry being healthy for a playoff run. Without that, it doesn't matter who else is on the team.
Yes, loving the Gui development in particular but Podz is doing well. Lowkey but important part of 22 ring was Poole getting all he could eat when he was genuinely awful in 2019-20 and then a lot of time alongside Steph in the latter part of 2020-21. Young players need that. Moody too has been decent I think.
My plea is really adding no more old / injured players next season. I guess if LeBron wants to take the vet min I wouldn’t say no, but the league at this pace is increasingly a young man’s game. I’d rather not trade picks now and if we do only for guys like Trey Murphy who are actually likely to play more than 50 games.
yeah. I've been pounding this drum for a couple of years. If you get aged talent, you have to assume a lot of missed games.
If you're lucky, they stay reasonably healthy during the playoffs. That's really all you can hope for (and it's a longshot, and hasn't happened for the Dubs the last two years).
Slater mentioned they callled on Kawhi and Friedell on Zach Lowe show also mentioned him as a potential target so I’d tend to trust them. Pretty obvious Jimmy and picks offer there if they want to do it. I just can’t believe he will ever be healthy enough to be worth it especially at 35.
LeBron I’m just assuming as they’ve been after him for years they’ll try again. Lowe brought him up but Spears was the latest on that and I know he does talk to Warriors people a fair amount. But obviously that has huge variables, ie does he even want to continue playing, will he take a discount etc.
LeBron will be UFA, so it depends on how much $ he wants. If he's not looking to make big bucks one last time, just wants to play with Steph and Draymond and go after one last ring, while unlikely, I guess it's possible. But he'd have to take a big salary cut because we'd still have Steph, Jimmy, and Dray under contract. Al could opt out. Maybe we couldn't afford Porzingis but then he's a health risk too.
I guess the Clippers might trade Kawhi for Butler to get the picks if they're going to tank. By trading Jimmy we could fit his salary. But I agree Kawhi is a big medical risk. The investigation could change his situation but I wonder whether Silver has the guts to go hard after Kawhi. If it all worked out, we'd be dangerous but a lot of ifs there.
I would say if Kawhi were healthy and the price were right, and he is balling like he is now, he’d be great. And if that investigation doesn’t go the wrong way for him. Just too many ifs for me and that’s kind of my point. If all your top players are old and/ or severely injury prone then where you are right now is what you end up with.
Give the JV/G-League squad all the reps til the season ends. It's mathematically impossible to miss the Play-In if they go 0-fer the rest of the season. Then unleash the vets on a 2-game tear to reach the Playoffs.
Was looking at the stats for Bam Adebayo's 83 point game and was NOT impressed. Shot less than 50% overall and 7/22 from three.
Here's the list of players to score 70 or more in an NBA game and their stats including true shooting percentage:
*Wilt Chamberlain - 100 points - 63 FGA, 28 FTA, TS% 64.9
Bam Adebayo - 83 points - 43 FGA, 43 FTA, TS% 67.0
Kobe Bryant - 81 points - 46 FGA, 20 FTA, TS% 73.9
Luka Doncic - 73 points - 33 FGA, 16 FTA, TS% 91.2
David Thompson - 73 points, 38 FGA, 20 FTA, TS% 78.0
Damian Lillard - 71 points, 38 FGA, 14 FTA, TS% 80.4
Donovan Mitchell - 71 points, 34 FGA, 25 FTA, TS% 78.9
David Robinson - 71 points, 41 FGA, 25 FTA, TS% 68.3
Elgin Baylor - 71 points, 48 FGA, 19 FTA, TS% 63.0
*Wilt had five other games of 70 or more points, with TS% of 73.4, 71.1, 64.4, 61.9, and 51.6
The last one looks like a real stinker - 78 points but on 62 FGA and 32 FTA!

And then Cooper took another record from Kobe. His fans are going through it right now.
The only stat you need to look at is 83.

Cmon Lacob. What good is your tech money if you can’t install Thanasis on the board of Anthropic to bring Giannis here?
Happy Birthday Steph! 🎉
The injury report vs the Knicks is out.... it's as bad as you would expect..
https://ak-static.cms.nba.com/referee/injury/Injury-Report_2026-03-14_03_45PM.pdf
Help us Omer Yurtseven. You are our only hope.
The injury list is a contender
Butler III, Jimmy Out Injury/Illness - Right ACL; Surgery
Curry, Seth Out Injury/Illness - Left Adductor; Strain
Curry, Stephen Out Injury/Illness - Right Patellofemoral; Pain Syndrome
Green, Draymond Out Injury/Illness - Left Low Back; Injury Management
Horford, Al Out Injury/Illness - Right Soleus; Strain
Melton, De'Anthony Out Injury/Illness - Left Knee; Injury Management
Moody, Moses Out Injury/Illness - Right Wrist; Sprain
Porzingis, Kristaps Out Injury/Illness - General; Illness Management
Post, Quinten Questionable Injury/Illness - Left Ankle; Sprain
Looks like the Dubs are punting the Knicks game and hoping to grab a W against the Wizards. Can't say I disagree with that strategy.
Waiting for the report listing Celebrini out for load management
9 guys out of what....15?
No, 17. We have 14 on regular deals and 3 two-ways (Leons, Nate Williams, Cryer). So if all 9 are out, we have 8 left, barely enough to play a game.
Does this include the new guy?
Yes, that's Jeenathan "Nate" Williams. He's on a 2-way.
Warriors signed center Ömer Yurtseven to a 10 day contract today. So it's one more body.
😢
Was at the game last night, 3 more players injured during the game plus Dray. Also at game Steph injured. And Jimmy game. Is it me?!?
Nah. It's just a coincidence. 😎
Dunno. Those were only games I’ve been to this season. Also was at game when KD initially pulled his Achilles.
you are no longer allowed to attend warrior games
Burn some sage and have some pi(e). It'll be alright.
Giannis out against the Hawks. They're going to be 6 or 6.5 games out of 10th (Charlotte) in the East, and I think it's almost time for them to throw in the towel. Even with our upcoming schedule, I don't think we can 'make up' 5 games on them.

JK out too.

It's a race. KP is out vs Knicks.

He was a real cult favorite here, so some people will be happy. Didn’t give a Bassey or Bolden a chance from Santa Cruz though
Why spend a lottery pick on a 6'11" Turkish center you can get a 7' Turkish center for free (too soon?)
I remember thinking Yurtseven was pretty solid on the heat, surprised he wasn’t already on contract in the NBA
Hawks had fans try to dunk from a trampoline. It went exactly as expected. LOL.

Since 2015, the Lakers, Spurs, Celtics, Cavs, Heat, and Thunder (combined) have won how many more championships than the Warriors?

Happy Pi Day!

Green - lower back soreness
Horford - calf
Post - sprained ankle
It's the magical healing waters of Latvia.
The idea of playing Leons and/or Gui for 20-25 minutes at center is a bit scrinchy. Get well soon, Dray.
I would think the Warriors could get a warm body on a 10 day. For instance, isn't James Wiseman available?
You were right! Good job!
Is that Charles Bassey's music I hear?? (Or Marques Bolden???)
ITS BASSEY! ITS BASSEY! BAH GAWD
Nice. I forgot about them. Get Bassey up and give him another go.

I like that with us pretty much dead on for 9th or 10th seed, there are no real stakes until the play-in and it's just basketball.
The fucked up part is that I don't think the Warriors are tanking, I think they just are this injured.
I mean they went into the season with their three best players turning 38, 36 and 36 in season, a key role player turning 40, another with a long injury history coming off a torn ACL and then traded one of their young players for someone with a long injury history and a mysterious condition. Warriors upcoming schedule:
3/15- @ Knicks
3/16- @ Wizards (B2B)
3/18- @ Celtics
3/20- @ Pistons
3/21- @ Hawks (B2B)
3/23- @ Mavericks
3/25- vs. Nets
3/27- vs. Wizards
3/29- @ Nuggets
Going to be tough to lose all of them
Maybe Podz can go for 75 against the Wizards.
