Prediction
I think post-Steph, I think it’s most likely that GSW ends up like MIA. A well-run, hardworking team with a good culture that is on the edge of contention. That’s the best that a good organization can get you: to be in position to take advantage of luck. Then you might make some overachieving runs that fall short with a star like Jimmy Butler. Or, once in a lifetime, you can luck into a proper superstar and be a perennial contender again.
Contrary to many people, I think the front office has been between good and great. Yes, they had some big stinkers but a lot of hits too. As recently as last year, GSW had a legit shot to go all the way before Steph’s hammy. Arguably, GSW had another good run lined up this year before Steph and Jimmy’s injuries. That’s pretty great stuff in a league with all the rules designed to destroy dynasties.
People who think the ownership and front office stink need to look at some actual bad FO and coaching, like what’s happening in SAC recently or GSW between 1991 and 2012.
Prediction for the Game
Oh, you mean prediction for the game? Of course, the Warriors win.
