Random thoughts on some players in no particular order:
Podz: been overall super impressed with his composure given all the talk around his contract: tonight he was solid on D, made some big momentum changing plays on both ends, and didn't make some of the boneheaded decisions he used to. If he can stay on this trajectory he will definitely live up to his contract and then some.
Will Richard: energy was through the roof and loved his D. I think we can should use him more to guard the other team's syat guards (especially if/when they're tired), he's long and twitchy and annoying to dribble against.
Yax: not a great game for him but he kept his head in it and still contributed. Unclear if it was all the hype or just the ebbs and flows of him getting used to the league. Expecting a big game from him on Saturday since I can tell he wasn't pleased with that performance.
Bassy: clearly limited offensively but love his energy and effort.
Melton was solid and shooting better than I've ever seen him, Gui was awesome, and as always, Steph gonna Steph. Great team win, and beating the Lakers will never get old.
Bassey made the most of his limited minutes tonight. Hope he and Ike begin to get more opportunities from Kerr and demonstrate that they can provide reasonable depth at the center spot for the time being. The team appears to have steadied the ship after a shaky start, so no need for MDJ to do anything rash with the Porzingis situation right now. At least let's wait for something better than the likes of a Miles Turner or Wendell Carter Jr. to become a possibility.
With 11:40 to go in the game in the second quarter, the score of the game was Lakers 40-15. Over a 48 minute game, that score extrapolates to a 156-58 final score. Not kidding. The Lakers were on pace to beat the Warriors by 98 points!
For final 35:40 of the game, the Warriors outscored the Lakers 97-55. Over a 48 minute game, that score extrapolates to a 131-74 final score. That's a 57 point margin pace over nearly 3 quarters!
-"Recently, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr revealed his thoughts on the matter, saying, "We were definitely caught off guard by it in that we were in communication with him over the summer, and it seemed like everything was in a good place right up until training camp.”
Tonight, the 2026-27 Warriors became the first team in NBA history to end the 1st quarter down by 23 or more points and still manage to win the game by more than 14 points: https://www.sports-reference.com/stathead/tiny/ZJ0n9
The 1975-76 Warriors held the previous 14 point record. No other NBA team down by 23 or more points at the end of the first quarter has ever come back to win that game by more than 12 points. Before tonight only 4 teams in the entire history of the NBA that trailed by 23+ points at the end of 1st quarter had ever come back to win their game by more than 4 points. And before tonight, the all-time record for all NBA teams who trailed by 23+ points after the first quarter was 10-242.
In fact, before tonight no team that ended the 1st quarter trailing by 20 or more points had ever managed to come back to win that same game by more than 14 points: https://www.sports-reference.com/stathead/tiny/sJXxK
Also I apologize for the bad things I said about Niang. He somehow turned it around completely between I think the 4th and 5th game. Maybe it was that year off with injury.
Dubs' opponents thus far this year are all above .500 and are 12-3 against non Warrior teams. So to be 3-3 at this stage (even with the collapse against the Grizz) isn't a bad place.
If we can stay around .500 until the trade deadline/Jimmy comes back I’d consider that a major win TBH
If Butler comes back late Feb and we're at .500, I'd love our chances of making the play-in, at least. That's pretty close to a best case, I think.

And in no NBA game ever did the winning team ever score more than 131 points while the losing also scored 74 or less.
Lakers -26 in the 11 non-Luka minutes. Ouch!
Dubs -2 in the 17 non-Steph minutes

How do we replicate that…

And they only got to 14 bc the nba cup and gui shooting with 1.1 sec left up 12!
The Warriors won by 17. They would have broken the old record even if Gui had held the ball on the last shot.
