Yax again chipped in with a big 26 points, And 55% shooting %. What was very disappointing was the 7 turnovers. Warriors almosty saw a repeat of the MEmpjis game. Steph should nothave attempted that layup that he missed at the end. Burn the clock!!!!!!!!

fzwinter's avatar

Steph now with 145 points in 141 minutes. Not too shabby for a 38-year-old. Also 39/39 from the line.

"DETROIT -- Charlotte Hornets newly acquired forward Naz Reid was benched at halftime of Wednesday's 97-89 loss to the Detroit Pistons for not meeting "our standards in the first half," coach Charles Lee said after the game.

Reid, who started the game, finished with seven points on 2-of-6 shooting in 13 minutes.

"Unfortunately, [Reid] didn't meet our standards in the first half, and at halftime we made the decision that he wouldn't play in the second half," Lee said. "But I look forward to him meeting those standards come next game."

BayesGT's avatar

“Didn’t meet our standards” is an incredibly patronizing thing to say tbh. A responsible coach would not have put that out into the media

dubbletrubble's avatar

What does that even mean?

AttilaTheHun's avatar

It means MDJ should get the Hornets GM on the line and find out how much Reid would cost us — then try to negotiate that down because, y'know, Reid doesn't meet their standards after all, so they shouldn't ask a huge price.

Might they be interested in a 7' unicorn fixer upper with an exciting contract? We'd fix him right up ourselves, you see, but we've just been too busy. It's probably nothing a good doctor can't take care of.

AttilaTheHun's avatar

Yeah, the problem's not what they say it is. Our coach said so.

Willy White Shoes's avatar

He was assigned orange slices at halftime?

Seriously tho, I'm curious.

fzwinter's avatar

I was NOT impressed with the Wolves, particularly LaMelo. 6 turnovers, 2/8 from three, with several far beyond the arc with plenty of time on the shot clock. Don't see him providing winning plays for the Wolves even if/when Ant gets back.

I thought JK looked OK tonight - didn't force too many shots and zero turnovers as he didn't seem to drive recklessly into the paint as he often did with the Dubs. It'll be interesting to see how he continues to play in Ant's absence as his usage rate will likely go up a lot.

AttilaTheHun's avatar

Ball just got there. You may be right but give the Wolves some time to work with him, and then we'll see. I'm not a LaMelo fan but it's too soon to judge how he will do when defenses have to account for Ant.

Call me crazy but it feels like 20 pts a night shouldn’t be too hard for this kid.

Huge Congrats to the Brew Crew on their first WS Championshiop!!

Good thing I can wfh whenever.

I got a meeting at 930 that my coworkers need not know about. I'm ready for it!

fzwinter's avatar

I predict that if Curry gets 16 FTA/game here on out, the Dubs are going to have a great season.

Captain Jack's avatar

Brandin Podziemski said his back soreness is no longer an issue and expects to be fully cleared moving forward. Warriors have a Sunday, Monday back-to-back. @anthonyVslater

Ando's avatar

1) who is "later"? 2) who wins in "anthony vs later"?

AttilaTheHun's avatar

They can't all be gems.

Captain Jack's avatar

We won so it doesn't matter but Podz really got robbed on that no call when he got fouled by Trey Lyles at the 3pt line. In real time I thought Podz initiated the contact but watching the replay Lyles definitely jumped into him. Tired of the inconsistency. We've seen guys lunge forward into the defender and still get that call.

dubbletrubble's avatar

Looks like I missed a Steph classic, darnit.

fzwinter's avatar

It was an interesting Steph game. He made five straight threes in the second quarter, but shot 1/11 on threes the rest of the night. He finished 5/11 on twos and 16/16 from the line.

dubbletrubble's avatar

16/16 from the line?! Has he ever shot that many free throws in a game?

YoGabbyGabbySabby's avatar

Probably not in full game shape yet.

AttilaTheHun's avatar

We're talking about Steph. He's probably in the best shape of anyone in the league, even at his age.

Ando's avatar

I liked the part where they won the game.

Eric Apricot's avatar

So, if I do a Good & Bad all-lights video, should I do Steph or Yaxel or someone else?

AttilaTheHun's avatar

It might be educational to review all 7 Yaxovers along with some highlights.

fzwinter's avatar

The ugly Steph turnover in the last minute when he got double-teamed near half-court and didn't see the second player got my blood pressure up a little. Glad Dubs have Yaxel as a secondary scorer in crunch time.

Mycroft's avatar

I think that turnover was all on Melton. He was behind the play and should be responsible for calling out the second defender to Steph.

fzwinter's avatar

Perhaps, but Steph should know better

Chadara's avatar

Do what's easy for tonight and look for with high hopes great material tomorrow morning!

Captain Jack's avatar

I need to see all of Yax's turnovers please lol
