I was at the game tonight. So much fun. Melton looking really smooth. Podz and Moody showing skills. In person Steph gravity warping space and time such a marvel.
Also Kerr: “ (Buddy)’s one of the best teammates I’ve ever seen. Just the way he conducts himself, his energy, his joy, whether he’s playing or not - just the light that he brings to the locker room every day’s infectious, powerful - he’s just an incredible guy to coach. I was happy for him that he had that night given that he’s been out of the loop for a while.”
[Slater] Steve Kerr said the Jimmy Butler personal absence popped up right before tip after lineup introductions: “I got word from Mike (Dunleavy) that everything is fine.” / [Friedell] Kerr said “everything is fine” with Jimmy. He said Butler just had a personal issue pop up right before the game.
I was a Chargers fan growing up, and the 49ers broke my spirit to such an extent that I stopped watching sports for two decades. Petty childhood me smiled a bit seeing that score.
De'Anthony Melton's performance need only be summarised in these lyrics:
🎶 He's simply ravishing, he's happening, he know that he's cool
All the girls going crazy, they don't know what to do. 🎶
The rest of the team was also mostly brilliant. That is an excellently executed victory, I'd say. Looking at the situation around the league, the Dubs are on par with the fifth seed in terms of wins. My expectations as far as our guys looking like potential contenders was being in the top 5 by mid-January. So while our guys have not quite matched that target of mine, we are also not far off the mark as far as the potential to look good for the post-season (and avoid having to go through the same extended 100% push we needed last season). While I complain a lot and will probably go do so more the next time we lose a game, at least until the Kuminga trade, the pieces are slowly coming together.
Next week is going to be tough, let's see what the Warriors can do. I also hope that whatever personal issues kept Butler out of this game end up well for him and his loved ones.
Opposing teams were like, "Why won't you die???" whenever the Niners were playing well in spite of the depleted roster. But eventually, they ran out of luck.
MDJ needs to find a way to keep Melt next season.
Lakers have a game tomorrow and LeBron has played 30 minutes so far tonight.
It's against the Raptors.

Still a lot of time left….

Kerr: got word everything is fine with Jimmy, just a personal thing that came up at the last minute.
When I heard Jimmy was "resting" tonight, first thing I thought about was Giannis

Glad to see the Warriors take care of business… that 49ers game was tough.
I was a Chargers fan growing up, and the 49ers broke my spirit to such an extent that I stopped watching sports for two decades. Petty childhood me smiled a bit seeing that score.
Per Steph Jimmy was a scratch literally while the first play was being drawn up before the jump ball.
wow. What the heck happened?
Since it’s a personal matter nobody will say anything. Could be anything really.
It’s all good as long as it’s not a Wiggs-style leave of absence.
No Kerr post game interview?
We’re not really entitled to know.
Suddenly we’re three games back of the Wolves and 4th place? Love to see it.

The other Wiggins got 18 points. Our Wiggs got 15 points tonight.
Doesn't our Wiggs almost always get 15-17 points every night? Even when he doesn't play?
In my world, there is only one Wiggs.
At least the 49ers eliminated the healthy defending champion eagles on their field!
Valiant effort by the squad getting to 12 wins plus a playoff win, despite all the extreme injury misfortune.
(And btw, at least we get a 3rd place schedule next year)
Not a niners fan but it was pretty hilarious to see them beat Philly in Philly. Shanahan is COY in my mind
Opposing teams were like, "Why won't you die???" whenever the Niners were playing well in spite of the depleted roster. But eventually, they ran out of luck.
