Game 32. GSW 114, NYK 106. A good solid ending for the Rusty Full Squad
It was never in doubt, except for the whole last quarter
Nice to have the Rusty Full Squad back!
Apricot's In-Game Notes
Q1.9:30. GSW throwing in a new option in HORNS. An old fashioned top going to down screen for a corner.
Curry Curry
Q1.7.30. Looney and Dray mess up a switch at the top. 6.50. Draymond launches the ball and his backpack for a nice open 3
Q1.5.47. Steph has quietly been playing High Tag D on any PNR trying to switch him. Most teams canāt figure out that gimmick D. Again at 5:35. I wrote extensively at https://www.letsgowarriors.com/p/the-new-way-stephen-curry-defends
Bazemore from the left corner. He had a mini slump and his 3P% from there dropped below 100%. Now back up to 103% Wiseman back and missed Steph cutting... will take time to get over his tunnel vision
GSW runs stagger screen twice. Wiseman lets a loose ball drift by his head. Almost lets another go, touches it. Bazemore left corner 3p% up to 107%. Dray looking to score, get all the haters off his back for a day
Good memory. Iāve done a bunch of E1Ps as it keeps on popping up
Wiseman dunk off another HORNS wrinkle Q1.2:00. Next play, Steph throws a lob to Wiseman nearly off the roof, GREAT catch, power dunk. A lot of therapy in that dunk.
Wiseman completely loses his man on a PNR for a dunk. Steph banks a 3 in... sorry Steph, even you the GOAT shooter have to call bank first
That Quickley 3PT form is odd. He also throws his head back on the least bit of contact. I hate that. Bazemore left corner 3P% up to 114%. Right corner 3P% probably 25%. Nice that EP is looking to playmake, but someone yells āLook at the basket Eā and he realizes heās covered by Quick and gets the And-1
Q2.7.23.... I *think* that was the long loop play I donāt like except Oubre didnāt know it was coming, so the loop was extra extra long
He used those points to upgrade his dunk package
Okay, I think weāve discovered playing small ball against Noel is incorrect
The Rose-Thibs chemistry is real I guess
Wiseman having some decent rim protection and then spun in a hypnotic layup
$(%*&#$. Wiggs misses Wiseman for a dunk, Steph with a tough (but catchable?) pass to JW, turnover
Lots of mini games here. Dray seems to be freelancing off Noel (I think) which is a pretty daring plan. And itās working like gangbusters. That Steph 3 while running full speed to the arc then jumping straight up... that defied biomechanics
After the time out, Looney ignores Noel screening at the arc. How long can they keep this gimmick D up?
Q3.9.40. Hmm, Steph runs the Iverson cut for the first time that I remember. Clunky play though
Ahhh, the three man split, Steph brings 2 defenders, Oubre cuts for a dunk
Oubre either had a poor putback or a GREAT attempt to destroy the shot clock
Q3.5.20. Running plays for Wiseman. That was a curl drop off that Klay used to run. Wistful stare, misty eyes
That Knick steal looked clean... I think it was a makeup call from Steph getting bumped right before. Refs do try average out these fractional fouls, for better or worse
That was not a great foul from Steph, but I canāt remember the last reaching foul heās gotten
Now I am relatively tolerant of Fitz... not a fan, but not calling for his head. But... BIG JIM = CANCEL FITZ
Man if I were the Knicks I would so SO TILTED from that... outstanding read of Drayās short roll kick out... right to a Steph 3.
Hahaha. Steph runs the Klay curl EOQ play, NYK jumps all over that cliche, Wiseman takes the slip option for a rather delicate layup. Analyzed at https://www.letsgowarriors.com/p/subs-only-explain-one-play-steph-9aa
GSW daring Gibson to run the PNR short roll right. I.ā Iā. Baze air balled a left corner 3. Put him in the concussion protocol immediately
Looney and Wiggs run into each other on the SLOB (sideline out of bounds). Not encouraging.
Kerr says (basically) Paschall has to play 4 to stay in the league. So heās going to play him at 4 instead of gimmick small 5
Ok... I mentioned the collision on the last SLOB. This one ends in a mess.
Steph back early please? He had extra rest in Q2....
YES HE IS
That Steph behind the back pass definitely suggests a certain guy is in a certain f around mode
oooh, very nice punish of NYK trapping Steph at the top of the key.
Wiggins runs into Steph on Head Tap. Steph was definitely supposed to be screening for Wiggs there, but I think Wiggs thought Steph was screening to the right, and AW tried (like he usually does) to reject the screen. But no, Steph screens left, and whammo NYK euro-fouls Steph after he throws the ball into the stands but before it goes out... couldnāt have happened to a nicer cheap basketball move
Sorry, we only have random endings left in stock. Please accept these free fries as an apology
Sorry everyone, this is definitely a Random Ending. I just hope itās not a Freak Mutant one like last game.
Steph getting trapped. Kerr goes to a handoff. I like.
Steph goes for a quick give and go with Dray, fake handoff from Dray, reversal to Oubre for a called foul. Interesting... NYK could win this challenge.
Haha, the genuine boos from the crowd for the challenge ruling. I miss real crowds.
Sounded like every draft night
Payton fouled by Looneyās shins when Payton falls into him
INTEGRITY BALL
That was a f-ing magical find by Steph
Okay, it would take an all-time Random Ending to blow this one. Wheeeeew
You def want to skip over certain 19th century parts of the game
More drama when you have to rule out all logically possible ways to blow it
NOBODY BEATS US WITH A HUMILIATING ENDING THREE GAMES IN A ROW. NOBODY
Steph is now 2.5 PPG behind Beal for the scoring lead. I think he can catch him.
Iām willing to admit I was wrong about Oubre after previously being right about him and giving up on him as a bad fit. Iām thinking his game turned around when he ditched the head band.
That said, Iād still trade him for Lonzo straight up.
