Thank you Dubs. The 49ers and their genius boy coach never seems to deliver when needed. A coach who thinks he is better than players will mess up the team everytime - and thats what shananeganaham exudes.

Yup, either wilks needs to adjust the defense during the bye week or they need to bring in an additional or replacement d coordinator. There's too much talent to be this meh and no freaking pressure

The Defense is collapsing. The offense was honestly fine

Rookie PG and lead shot-creator is the toughest gig in the league.

He'll figure it out, but first few months are likely gonna be rough.

We only had 14 TOs. Everyone had 1 each, except for Green (4), JK (3), and Wiggs (2). If we could trim it down to 10, the better!

Expand full comment

I might be the only one, but I only worry when the TOs are in the late teens/20s. 14-15, fine with me. Been like that since 2014 and yet still play the best brand of bball compared to all other 29 teams

With Chris Paul making the decisions for the 2nd unit, I hope for fewer turnovers; after all, Steph admitted in an interview that he and Draymond were the primary tov generators on the starting lineup (though Steph had 1 and Draymond 4 ). Although this game featured "brain farts" from many contributors across all positions, I comfort myself with the 49 rebounds, 6 steals, and 6 blocks :-)

Should be lower this year not just because of Paul, but because the second unit isn't going to run as much.

I think the 'danger zone' drops a bit (maybe 17 or so), just because we also aren't getting those easy buckets (Poole got us a lot! of transition buckets the last couple of years.

Same, I also think there's a floor around the low-mid teens given our play-style.

Chris Paul off the bench for the first time in his career. He takes care of the ball, he's a pro, and he's one of Steph's mentors. Respect.

Ditto, way better than expected and a lot quicker but it makes sense since Paul isn't just a vet but a very smart one that knows how to make winning plays. Seems like our new pickups that are smart do well, like Otto beli andre

Davion Mitchell still sucks, 3 fouls and not even halfway through the second

Expand full comment

tbf all the Kings are playing like last year's warriors

Expand full comment

You mean they're having a bunch of fouls called against them for hot stove contact while getting pushed around cleanly by the other team? That's called playing the Lakers.

Expand full comment

This is one of many reasons I cannot stand Lebron James. He really *was* anointed King and that's just stupid.

Expand full comment

that and doing dumb reach-ins :)

Expand full comment

Meanwhile the Kings are up 13 against the Lakers.

Expand full comment

We have a good chance of dodging the relatively difficult for us Lakers matchup simply by LA not making the playoffs.

Expand full comment

I'd be shocked if they missed the playoffs tbh. This team still looks like it should make it

How different does this Houston team look if they draft Evan Mobley in 21 and Keegan Murray in 22 (players chosen immediately after their respectice picks). For the record I think Jabari will eventually be good but in a system dependent sorta way. I have always contended that Jalen Green is not.

Expand full comment

They still need veteran leadership.

Giving a boatload of money to FVV and Brooks isn't it

Expand full comment

I'll contend your contention with the claim that Jalen Green is the poster child of a talented athlete who wasn't coached/given guardrails and as a result developed bad habits.

Expand full comment

Yes. You said it better. Not necessarily a bad or untalented players. Bad habits that need to be seriously rounded out. Also think that he sees himself as a bonafide Option A on a team and I think he would work best as a second option given he cleans up those habits. Im just not as optimistic he will even under new coaching

Expand full comment

How do you think switching Murray and Jabari would impact how we view both? I think Murray works super well for the Kings, but idk if JSJ would?

Expand full comment

Good question. I think Jabari has slightly higher upside but Murray was a more well rounded player coming in already. I think throwing Jabari with the likes of Jalen and KPJ last year was counterproductive. Feel Murray may have better handled team dynamics. Not been as passive.

Expand full comment

Yeah Jabari was given no favors with how cursed that lineup was last year. And Smith has athleticism for days, which could be really nice with how fast the Kings play... I'd love to watch it tbh

Steph maybe 12 games away from putting 500 threes (regular season) between himself and Ray Allen.

I'll take it.

The last thing Steph does before each game starts is neatly fold his conscience and leave it by the side of the court.

this is one of those bench units where there’s a different hero every night. everybody played well but gp2 gets the 2nd unit game ball tonight.

I think a second unit game ball is a great idea!

the difference between this years steph heroics and last? we got stops when it mattered and we got shots off for the most part. that’s how you win games on the road. well, that’s how you win in general.
