One. More. Game.
A list of all Explain One Play articles and videos is at The new Explain One Play index.
The Boston Celtics entered Game 5 of the NBA Finals with a new aggressive defense on Stephen Curry, trapping him on-ball and hounding off-ball and denying passes to him on 2022.06.13.BOS-GSW. We look closely at the first part of the game, when the Warriors continued to run their motion offense and found ways to punish the Celtics, and built up a lead that ended up being the final margin of victory. They also bottled up the Boston attack by overplaying the three point shots, forcing the Celtics to dribble into help and daring them to outpass the Warriors defensive teamwork and rotations. Co-starring Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, Draymond Green, Otto Porter Jr. With Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Al Horford.

That running commentary on the Klay celebration gauntlet had all the hype and drama of a playoff game. Kudos Mr Apricot for raising the non playing time plays to your in game analysis standards 👌🏽
"If Steph goes to the bathroom then Marcus Smart is gonna stand between Steph and the toilet, and Robert Williams is gonna be outside the stall" I love this, nuanced and expository bathroom humor. Chef's kiss.
