Explain: Steph Curry and Warriors Defense make adjustments, blow out Celtics in NBA Finals Game 2
That was a good game
A list of all Explain One Play articles and videos is at The new Explain One Play index.
The Warriors faced a must-win game in Game 2 of the NBA Finals against the Celtics on 2022.06.05.BOS-GSW, and came out with the right intensity. However, Boston kept making difficult shots to stay in the game until the Warriors finally ran away with a huge ending to the third quarter. We look at the plays and how the Warriors adjusted their losing strategy from Game 1 with simple important changes.
On offense, GSW ran Steph Curry pick and roll with screens that made contact and also changed the angle on their screens. On defense, GSW cleaned up bad rotations, attacked shaky dribbles by getting into players and swiping at their dribble, and didn’t get discouraged when BOS kept making absurd shots.
Co-starring Stephen Curry, Kevon Looney, Jordan Poole, Draymond Green, Andrew Wiggins, Otto Porter Jr, Gary Payton II. With Jayson Tatum, Al Horford, Payton Pritchard, Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, and Grant Williams.

watching this, the Dubs definitely played good d, but also looks like the Celtics missed a few makable shots during that big third quarter run
then again, that is an inherent part of the game
