Don't think anyone mentioned this yet but there was a post game scrum between the Bucks and Pacers. It first seemed to start between, no joke, Giannis and Haliburton's dad. They got separated, came back together to have a face to face conversation, they were then separated from each other again and a scuffle happened between some more folks on the Pacers/Bucks maybe 30 seconds later.
RIVERS sucketh...no defense....HALIBURTON scoring at will on 4 straight layups down the middle...got by his man every time with no backup anywhere...lol...GIANNIS is wasted there...he needs to be a the BAY...
Pacers beat the Bucks 119-118 in OT. They were up 7 with 40 seconds left in the game, but the Pacers went on an 8-0 run in the final seconds to close out the series.
A lot of people are saying Udoka made a poor decision taking out Adam’s but tbh, I’m not so sure.
Adam’s shoots 46% from the line so that’s roughly 0.92 ppp compared to the Rockets 1.15 ppp during the regular season and 1.07 ppp against the Warriors this playoffs.
Adam’s would need an 8% increase in FT% to just match the Rockets anemic offense for this series. For those who say that he should waited to see if Adam’s hit the ft, he has two season worth and one current series of shitty ft% evidence already.
Some people say, at least get in the bonus first. Problem with that is, the Rockets are a meh FT drawing team (16th in NBA) and they’ve been shooting it terribly this series. It’s just not a good cost/benefit analysis especially when u consideradd in how badly it’s going to mess up the Rockets flow offensively and the increased risk of the Warriors just going on a run or getting threes.
Udoka made the right decision. It’s just, both of his options were shit. Thanks to Steve 10 RINGS Kerr that is!
Maybe this part is semantics, but the Rockets did get to the bonus when they took Adams out. The Warriors fouled up until the next foul would have been a shooting foul, which is when Udoka took Adams out.
Adams came out at 4:25
Rockets took timeout at 3:18 and had a chance to put him back in, but didn't.
Butler scores at 2:12, Udoka sends Adams to check in to the game.
Smith throws it away at 1:55, Adams re-enters.
Rockets score with 40 seconds left, Warriors call timeout, Rockets take out Adams for defensive possession.
Rockets get a stop, call timeout, put Adams back in for offensive possession at 13 seconds.
This is an interesting analysis but I do think he should have left Adams in. First, there’s also OREBs (though I don’t know HOU’s rate on FTs). Second, hack-a is not allowed in the last two minutes so there wasn’t that much time. Third, the 46% is only this year on HOU. His career rate is 53.3% which is quite close to the avg rates you listed and better than the HOU crunch time efficiency (I acknowledge that is small sample size but still). Fourth, it’s a big deal for HOU to set up its D and get the matchups it wants. Fifth, the getting into bonus thing. Sixth, Steph, Jimmy, Dray probably need the rest more than HOU does.
So I acknowledge there are pros and cons but I would have left him in. And notably, Phil Jackson generally left in the original Hacked-Shaq for similar reasons.
First, I could be wrong, but offensive boards off missed free throws seem far less likely than free play because the defense is better positioned to box out Adams. So if OREBs matter, avoiding free throws makes sense.
Second, while the time saved is minor, it’s still smarter to bring Adams back when hacking is off the table—which is exactly what Udoka did.
Third, career FT% matters, but his recent form—this season and series—is more relevant for predicting in-game performance.
Fourth, a set defense helps, but the Warriors rank 13th in transition this postseason. They’re playing a half-court game anyway, so the benefit is minimal.
Fifth, I get the bonus argument, but as I’ve said, it’s a limited edge given the Rockets FT struggles.
Sixth, yes, the Warriors benefit from rest, but the Rockets don’t want to give our stars breaks at the line so they don’t want to give us that. Plus, it disrupts their offensive rhythm when our players get touches and theirs don’t.
I get that there are pros and cons, and I respect any disagreement—but in my view, it was the right call given the limited upside.
I think one could also make the argument that a lot of Adams free throws meant more rest for Steph and Jimmy and Udoka didn't want to give that advantage to an older and more injured team.
But with the Rockets' size and the unpredictability of bounces from Adams' bricked FTs, there's a decent chance that Rockets get the rebound after the second FT, so that should be factored in as well.
I do factor it in. I could be wrong, but offensive boards off missed free throws seem far less likely compared to offensive free play— because the defense is better positioned to box out Adams. So if OREBs matter, avoiding free throws makes sense.

I read it as "fresh evening, thread gang"

40 seconds left, AJ Green (career 86% FT) at the line to drop in his second FT and put the Bucks up 8.
Bricks it … and 40 seconds later the Bucks are gone fishing. Playoff basketball can be brutal.
AC Green… now there is a name I have not heard in a long time.
lol, whoops. AJ Green!
IIRC, AC Green wasn’t much of a shooter, but a great defender with an A+ Jheri curl…
Let’s go get Giannis next year lol
Next year? My man, aim higher! how about half a year?
Mother of all chokes by the Bucks! Gary Trent went from GOAT to goat with 2 key turnovers.
Can't even make a simple catch. That was sad.
Bill Buckner-esque
Gonna be a LONG offseason for the Bucks.
Giannis had the chance to reject the game-winning bucket for the Pacers. Alas, he's no Draymond when it comes to that sort of thing.
I thought he will rotate to get the block. He must be gassed though.
Yeah he played over 44 minutes. Gary Trent played the entire game, fwiw
Just a brutal ending for Milwaukee
That's it for Doc, thank goodness.
Pacers beat the Bucks 119-118 in OT. They were up 7 with 40 seconds left in the game, but the Pacers went on an 8-0 run in the final seconds to close out the series.
I thought I couldn’t feel worse for Milwaukee…
Whelp
It was a good game though. I was impressed with how the Pacers stayed in it after being down 7 with so little time left.
Bucks shooting themselves in the foot repeatedly this game lol.
Knicks up 50-49 at halftime

I would have left him in to get to 4 fouls (so that next one is bonus for others)... Then pulled him until the 2 min mark.

There won’t be any OREBS for for him to grab if every offensive possession is him shooting FTs
OREBs from his FT misses
I didn't understand why Adam's wasn't put back in the game last 2 minutes at least
He came back in at 1:55
I think one could also make the argument that a lot of Adams free throws meant more rest for Steph and Jimmy and Udoka didn't want to give that advantage to an older and more injured team.
Absolutely, excellent point.

Bucks are fighting back.
Edit: Game is heading to overtime
Spurs with the back to back ROY winners. Congratulations to Stephon Castle, the 2025 Rookie of the Year.
