Stephen Curry got the media attention for his breaking the all-time threes record in the 2021.12.14.GSW-NYK game, but quietly Jonathan Kuminga was making his most significant contributions so far in his rookie year. In this video, we’ll look at how Kuminga is fitting into the offensive schemes. In short, there were a couple of times when he wasn’t sure what the play was, but he managed to contribute anyway.

I liked that there were no threes hoisted up. And we saw him make a decent read in the four-on-three short roll when Steph Curry got blitzed. We saw him featured in that Kuminga loop play where you start from the left low block and loop him around two screens.

Co-starring Stephen Curry, Andre Iguodala, Draymond Green, Jordan Poole and Gary Payton II. Also with Alec Burks, Derrick Rose, Mitchell Robinson, and Julius Randle.

Wiggins needs a clear line of sight, an open lane, for his rim runs. If traffic, he's always been happy to step back. But Kuminga will drive on the shoulder to get around and through traffic. His ability to attack with force and efficiency in those tight windows is good now. What will it look like in a couple years?

>>To seal the evening off, Curry took back the game ball from his father after dinner, and pulled out a Sharpie.

“12/14/21 @ MSG. 2974 AND COUNTING,” he began to write.

On the panel below – without pausing for a second – he added in all caps:

“GREATEST SHOOTER OF ALL TIME!”

His swooping shorthand autograph followed, and he handed the ball back to his father.

“I never wanted to call myself the greatest shooter until I got this record,” he said. “I’m comfortable saying that now.”<<.
