EA, right before you said, "Can you even get an assist on a play like that?" I was thinking to myself that even I could have made that pass and earned an assist (which is basically saying the same thing ;)

Horrible Nicknames #247: Jordan Poole loves to spin... or whirl. Whirl Poole -> Whirlpool -> Jordan "The Dishwasher" Poole?

I'm gonna stop at "whirlpoole" and call it a good one?

So with Steph and Wiseman sitting out for the Warriors, and LeBron, Davis, Anthony, and Westbrook out for the Lakers, were there more future HOFers on the bench or on the floor last night?

Let us not forget that Reggie Miller was in the building, as what's his name kept reminding us. The HOF roster I'm willing to vote of in the building last night: Playing: Klay, Dray, that's it. Not Dwight in my opinion, although he might well get voted in. Had a good defensive run and even decent offense a decade or two ago. Bench: LeBron, Steph, that's it. Carmelo and Russ will both get voted in but neither deserve it. Neither one really makes a team better, as years of play have shown. AD is the hardest because I don't know if his future years will be Peak AD or Injured Slow AD. If the former, he's a lock. As for young guys: ask me again in six years. The ones I'm most optimistic about at an extremely early phase are Poole and Kuminga, but they would have to improve a lot and put in many top level years, and neither of those things are guaranteed. Are we all going to sleep on Wiseman? Yes indeed, I am at least for now. It's very comfortable sleeping on Wiseman, he's huge.

I overall agree, but do think you're selling Anthony, Howard, and Westbrook short (although I understand the criticism). Prime Howard was a force and dragged the Magic to the finals. He's top ten all time rebounds, will likely retire with 20k points, is a three time DOPY winner, is top 15 all time for blocks, is an 8 time All-Star and 8 time All-NBA selection. If those aren't HOF qualifications I don't know what it?

Plus you can't discount Dwight's late season three point shot improvements!

Same story for Anthony and Westbrook. Were either of them perfect players? Far from it. But despite the criticisms at some point the accolades just need to stand on their own. You just don't shut people with their resumes out of the HOF. This isn't the MLB!

As for Davis, we'll see, but similar to Grant Hill I think he'll get in regardless off of name recognition and having a really high high.

For the young guys, agreed. Way too early to tell but Poole and Kuminga have promise.

And yeah... Andre and Looney aren't getting in.

For sure Good Dwight was really good. But Bad Dwight has been horrid, and for a long time. I know that Westbrook and Carmelo will get voted in no matter what I say, but to me Carmelo is a scorer and nothing else. There's just too much else going on in a basketball game to ignore that he doesn't pass, cut, set picks, rebound, play defense, bring energy, in any significant measure. Russ definitely has shown crazy energy over the years although not lately.. but we all know those trip dub stats were mostly empty calories. He's a willing but not insane passer. He rebounds by stealing from his teammates. He is also a terribly confused defender and never seems to learn on offense either, and adjust. He just does Russ, or wanders out of the play. To me that's not Hall of Fame, that's a good career.

Warriors future HOFers playing: lock - Dray, Klay, Poole; more likely than not - Kuminga, Moody; borderline - Andre, Looney.

Lakers future HOFers playing: lock - Howard, THT; more likely than not - Monk; borderline - Bazemore

That's a really generous take IMO.

To me, the only locks are Dray, Klay, and Howard. None of the young guys are anything but "TBD". And the only guy worth borderline status might be Andre given his additional impact off the court.

I'm shocked, SHOCKED that you'd consider me putting THT as a lock for the HOF as a generous take!

In what world is Bazemore even borderline?

Borderline personality disorder maybe?

Neither Andre nor Looney will be even allowed to visit the HOF, imho. Sorry loyal fan base.

I wouldn't be putting Poole in the HOF just yet, all it takes is one reconfigured knee ala Shaun Livingston to take you out of that conversation. LeBron, Russ, Steph, Klay, and Dray are locks. I'm not even that sure about AD. He would have to stay healthier than he has been.

why would you even mention an injury like that?

Plus Poole is a lot better than Livingston was.

Bonus: Does Kerr count as on the bench or on the floor for the Warriors?
