SVG says that the Pelicans have proven they are as good as anyone in the West when healthy. When did they prove that? In November? Is that all it takes now?
Can Curry still win MVP, hypothetically speaking? By that i mean if Curry continues this level of play (likely) and dubs finish off 2023 like they started 2021-22 (also likely)
So I saw some discussion about the 2 timeline thing in some dark scary corner of the Warrior blogosphere. I'm personally not a big proponent of the 2 timeline thing nor am I proponent of trade everybody for Beal. So this post is not about that. However, it's an off day and it did get me contemplating what the Warriors could do once they no longer have Steph Klay Dray (and Andre, I guess).
I think they should be super aggressive and try to sign and or trade for the following players:
Jaren Jackson Jr.
Darius Garland
Devon Booker
Tim Hardaway Jr.
Nick Claxton
Bol Bol
and maybe try Nico Mannion on a 2-Way again
Now I think there is enough info there to see the pattern I used to select these specific players .
Anyone else see it? (Maybe it's glaringly obvious and this post is even stupider than I thought, but, like I said, no game tonight). If you see it, any players I missed that would help the Warriors Legacy continue into the future? (players who are not of NBA playing age or, at least in HS so we might draft them in the next 5 years or so are not eligible, so you can't say Canon ...)
I hate to be obvious but I can't help myself: Steph crouches down to get and hold the position, then shoots up up up into the air and takes the rebound instead of 6'11" Muscala? Did I dream this? Steph can boogie, Steph can fly! (Oh My My.)
Looking increasingly like “Let’s wait until we have our best 8 or 9 guys all healthy and see how we look before trading away any of our future core.” was a pretty sound approach. Given the price for someone good enough to displace one of Steph, Klay, Dray, Wiggins, Looney, Kuminga, DDV, Poole and even JMG now that it seems things have clicked for him, I’m glad they’re standing pat thus far.
If and when all the cylinders are firing, I expect this team will be better than last year’s. Kuminga + DDV are an upgrade over OPJ + GP2 and I think JMG can give them ancillary minutes at the 5 like Bjelly did, even if their games differ.
