Suns look like a decent team now - currently leading the flakers 79-63 with 7 mins and change in the 3rd. Their size and hustle is bothering the flakers.

Luka just dropped 20 pts in the 1st Q against the same defense that held *our whole team* to 19 points in the first 16 minutes last night.

Damn you Nicoooooooooo!!!!!! 😡

Are we still that upset given LAL finished with only a 12 point win, and gave up 121 points to a NOP team running on fumes on a SEGABABA... and Luka only scored 14 more points in the remaining 3 quarters?

Well, considering that Luka is averaging 35-9-9 and is a top-4 player in the NBA, and AD has played in 15 total games as a Maverick, I'm gonna stay upset with that trade for a LONG TIME.

Oh, I'll forever be upset that the Lakers were gifted both AD & Doncic... but I was more thinking about this particular game, with that comment.

Even in that reality, there’s no fvcking universe in which Austin Fvcking Reaves (who currently has 16 points on 5 fga) should not be on the Mavericks.

I mean, if we're saying this was what Adam Silver mandated, then certainly he could've also said Reaves can't be in the trade lol

Agree with all this, but seeing Cooper Flagg play like he did the last couple of games at 18 years old does make one wonder - did Dallas actually luck into someone who may eventually be better than Luka and Austin??

For the Warriors, last night's game marked the 5th worst three point percentage in any of the 143 games to date in which at least 50% of the Warriors' field goal attempts came from behind the arc: https://www.sports-reference.com/stathead/tiny/nRdhK

NBA teams' combined won-loss record in the 49 previous NBA games in which a team attempted 47 or more threes while connecting on 12 or fewer is 11-38. No team has ever won more than one of these games: https://www.sports-reference.com/stathead/tiny/RM7yo

Houston and Atlanta have done this 6 times each, The Warriors have only been in two other games, both losses, in which they took the same or more threes while connecting on the same or fewer.

There have also been just 10 other games in NBA history in which any team took the same of more threes while hitting the same or fewer while also taking the same or fewer two point shots while hitting the same or more: https://www.sports-reference.com/stathead/tiny/5cBaA

I know we depend a lot on Steph. I know OKC is annoyingly good. I know our older guys may need more rest than 20 year-olds. I know our chances for a championship in 2026 are slim, very slim. But damn it, do we really want to give up the fight already? Sitting everyone because we feel we cannot beat OKC anyway? I admit yesterday’s game was horrible - a win but not looking good at all. Just get up, adjust your Warriors crown and at least give it your best. Please!

Yeah that's a loser mentality, giving up entirely just because you aren't favored is weak. The shitty Lakers beat the 73-9 Warriors. This team is rested, they will not be sitting guys because they have more pride than that.

The Warriors will have one day rest advantage as well as the home advantage. Hartenstein is also out for the Thunder for about two weeks.

OKC will also be at a disadvantage in terms of scouting because nobody can predict where this team's points will be coming from game to game. :)

Note that since the Warriors signed up for the Buddy Hield experience, there have been just 15 games in which Hield attempted more than 5 threes with a three point percentage above 57%. The Warriors' record is 13-2 in these games: https://www.sports-reference.com/stathead/tiny/h17DR

This has happened in just one game so far this season, a comfortable victory in Phoenix. But it also happened in a close home loss against OKC late last November (a game in which Lindy Waters started and Steph Curry sat out): https://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/202411270GSW.html

In that game, the Warriors were ahead 96-93 going into clutch time. Looney missed a contested lay-up, got the rebound and missed again with just over 4 minutes left. Seconds later SGA made a three to tie the game up., and he made another three 2.5 minutes later to put OKC up by 4.

In between:

Podz missed an 8 footer.

Kuminga turned the ball over.

Kuminga missed a three, but the Warriors got the rebound and relocated to

Waters, who missed an open three.

Kuminga missed a contested layup.

SGA blocked a Wiggins 11 footer, but Wiggins got the rebound and relocated to

Waters who missed another open three, but Podz got another offensive rebound then

Podz missed a 4 footer that would have put the Warriors up by one with 1:44 left.

Sorry to go in such excruciating detail, but because that flashy MIB thing had worked its magic so well that I had to reread the play-by-play.

However, my overall point is that the Warriors can stay in the game against OKC (or any NBA team) even without Curry provided that Hield provides some efficient three point scoring. Note that in that game, Moody, Waters, Podz, Green and Kuminga combined to shoot 7-32 (22%) from behind the stripe.

Of course, Hield hasn't been demonstrating efficient three point production so far this season. In fact, Hield's 28 made threes through his first 21 games so far this season marks his lowest number of made threes in any 21 game span of a single season since the start of his rookie year (and his second worst mark since his rookie season is 36 made threes): https://www.sports-reference.com/stathead/tiny/8ta2o

In other words, he's due.

Yes, Buddy Hield is a shooter, if he needs to be a big part of the offense in any game, he should be trying to get 10 attempts or so.

I don't think anyone is sitting for a nationally televised game unless they're injured. I fully expect Butler and Draymond to play.

Given that Butler took two falls, I expect him to sit regardless. Not like the league can have a problem with it, given they have visual evidence.

Shams Charania

Seth Curry intends to re-sign with the Golden State Warriors on Monday to a deal for the remainder of the season, sources tell ESPN. Curry – who shot an NBA-best 45.6% from 3-point range in 2024-25 – joins older brother Stephen on the Warriors for his 12th season in the league.

Hah. Kinda hope they don't throw Seth into the OKC fire. He could probably use a few scrimmages first, and what's the point?

Just treat it like a scheduled loss, and get JB some recovery time from those two bad falls, and get Dray, Horford, and Steph some more rest. JK too, if he needs it.

Where did the idea that the Warriors are going to be resting anyone other than Steph, Melton, and Horford come from?

Last night Jimmy said, “I wanna hoop, man. I love competing with these guys, and I think we’ve got a special team, so let’s try to go out and show that and do something special come Tuesday.”

Did Kerr indicate anything different?

There was nothing in last night's game that suggested we were going to be competitive against OKC tomorrow, IMHO.
