Watching the game again confirmed what I thought during the game last night. Tobias Harris was almost as unstoppable as Embiid in the first half and starts the 3rd quarter just as hot & makes a couple of early shots. Then they go completely away from him until less than 4 minutes to go in the 4th qtr. And he makes a couple more shots. Then they go away from him again & feed the ball to Embiid non-stop. Not a good strategy for a good shooter, who was scoring nearly as much as their main man in the first half and was mostly unstoppable. But it was Philly's choice. And I'll take it.
“You guys are putting me on the spot here,” Dončić said. “It’s really frustrating. I think you can see it with me on the court. Sometimes, I don’t feel it’s me out there. I used to have fun, be smiling on the court, but it’s just been so frustrating for a lot of reasons, not just basketball. I don’t talk about my private life, but there’s just a lot going on.”
Man, hope it isn't too serious. Bad year for hoopers' home lives this year I guess.
Quiet Saturday, watched last night’s game again. What a great victory. This game had all the elements of success you need over a very good competitor. So much more pleasing than the (still delightful) imperfect last two wins. Those felt so sloppy to me, but last night was much more of an all around high quality performance. Can we repeat this now a couple dozen more times this season???
This game was truly a teamwork effort. JMG’s 12 points early on kept us in the game. Looney faithfully stayed on Embid and gave it his all to clamp down Embid, whether successful or not. Poole’s 4th quarter excellent shooting in the 4th gave the team the spark for a run to the finish line. Steph was Steph, sealing the game at the last minutes. Klay quietly contributed 21 points and 6 rebounds. It was a tall task but Kuminga tried to guard Embid. He may have failed but, hopefully, he takes some good learning experience from it. Lamb, Donte, and Moody helped keep the team afloat in the few minutes they were in. And Draymond was locked down and just everywhere with his 10 assists, 7 rebounds, and 10 points. Way to go Warriors. I hope this continues on during this last two week stretch and to the playoffs.
Great win! And Warriors need to keep winning. League determined to get Lakers out of the play-in and into the top 6 (via the dubious tactic of deciding Austin Reeves should get super star treatment from the refs), so one of Warriors, Suns, Clippers probably going to end up in the play-in. I would like that not to be us.
If you want to watch the game again or missed it last night, NBA tv is broadcasting it again now. Started at 10:30 am Pacific. At about the 6 minute mark of the 1st qtr right now.
The two teams with winning percentage above .500 we yet have to play are Denver and Sacto. However, the Denver game is fourth from last and the Sacto game is second from last and it appears quite likely that, assuming the warriors still have incentive to fight for playoff seeding at that time, their opponents may well not.
Just seeing that GPII is listed as probable for the game tomorrow.
Oh and the Dubs had 8 turnovers in the first half & just 3 in the 2nd.

So we want 76ers (vs Suns) and Pels (vs Clips) to win right? Although may be Clips winning would be better to keep NO at bay from sneaking into top 6.

That dad-daughter celebration is just plain sweet. Made me smile.
Less stressful watching the game again & knowing the outcome.

Embiid was embeat— love it. That’s an emdash btw.

Joel Imbeid Travels with the ball when moving in that lane..Explain that...
Celebration audit drew a crowd in the kitchen while I was watching this. Such a silly little feature, why do I love it so much?
Good morning, people of the Dub!
I am still basking in the glow of a glorious 3rd victory in a row. Since this has never happened in the history of mortal man, it is very special.
P.S. I love Kuminga with the existential dreadlocks.
