Ayton is in an interesting spot.

One way to look a this if you are the Suns, he needs to ball out and prove he is worth trading for. It could motivate him to play well and get a good trade for him. Otherwise, he is on the Suns the next 3-4 years.

I’m quite sick of hearing crazy chat about roster-destroying trades for Durant. I make my point:

- all the trumpets that play that song seem to be all the ‘experts’ that were baffled by ‘23 Dubs title and now work together to ensure that next title is remote enough to save partially their reputation.

- NOONE knows what Curry thinks, except metempsychotics, and I don’t believe there are many between said experts.

- such a trade would be bad for economy (forces BM to refill bench with players with 7x, 8x luxury), bad for the team (simply sum the main stats one side and the other), bad for the fans (they certainly love Poole, Wiggins, Kuminga, Wiseman more than Durant), bad for the future (all our young core for a 34yr old with the last few years riddled of injuries.

I say: stop LISTENING TO THEM

Liv seems quite in shape. Is it possible to get him a training jersey and teach by example to Kuminga his unforgettable midrange turnaround jump shot? Not a big deal, a JK that scores quick 20 from the bench would be not bad.

The fact that we're not signing any vets is a little suspicious.

Ric Bucher (or whatever his name is) seems like a bullshit artist to me, but all of Windhorst, MT and Spears saying it makes me think that there is some degree of interest there.

Wonder if remaining FAs are waiting for the blockbuster trades to be completed before they start making moves. It's been a pretty quiet FA for everyone

It's probably already been posted here, but for anyone else that missed it I can't think of something better to spend 12 minutes watching (Curry 2022 mini movie): https://youtu.be/HFEM4mL4Ha4

Let’s consider the roster kept at 13: (plus assuming Poole and Wiggins successfully extended)

Curry-Poole-Q

Klay-Donte-RR (if he will reveal himself as a luxury shooter, I have a nick ready for him)

Wiggins-Moody

Dray-Kuminga-PBJ

Loon-Wiseman

What mark do you give to Bob Myers’ work so far?

I’d give him an A. (you know I’m his aficionado, though 😉)

I just realized that we have a sort of Aesop’s fable trio: Moses, the Lion, and the Wise Man 😄

Does anyone else suspect that having Andre, in a year when almost half the roster is rookies and second years, might actually be important to the team developing and coming together over the season?

Compared with a year before, the communication and togetherness on the team seemed better last year, and more reminiscent of 2015-2018. The team just seemed more on the same page, both in interviews, and in every player on the roster having a clear idea of why they were on the court, game after game. Dray is communicative but definitely the bad cop at times when he's yelling at you on the court, Steph and Klay are both known for being quiet most of the time. Only Andre seems to have the style (according to interviews over the years) of constantly checking in with players, from rookies to vets, to see what's really going on with people and then using that connection to quietly say the right thing to them at the right moment on the court.

(Very hard, of course, to separate Andre's influence from changes in coaching staff, and other factors from year to year.)

Just thought others might find this interesting to help temper some of the more outrageous summer league takes: preseason is about six times more predictive of regular season play than summer league, according to Kevin Pelton’s research…even then there are a whole bunch of quite obvious confounding variables.

Just food for thought (even though my emotions will remain on this roller coaster every time I see Wiseman miss a fadeaway jumper from 2 ft away lol).

For all the athleticism that lets JK score in bunches in SL, He looks lost on team D and O. Only thing he's good at is iso-ball. The lack of year over year improvement has me almost willing to trade him if a decent offer comes around.

Everyone's jumping on the run it back bandwagon, which is suspicious, but at least it helps the Warriors (by upping the price for PHX).

OT..yay team play.

In a recent interview with Slovenian publication Siol.net, Dragic got very candid about his time in Brooklyn playing alongside Irving and Durant, describing it as “quite difficult” because the focus was on individual play, not the team.

“I played with some stars like Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, and I have to admit that it was quite difficult because the focus was not the team, but more the individual performances of the individuals,” Dragic said via Google translate.

We have not seen any news on JW’s knee. Does that mean no news is good news?

Could someone please work with Wiseman on getting his feet set beyond the 3 point line? He shot another foot on line "3" last game, and it brought back memories of multiple other occasions in 20-21 where he did the same thing.

Also surprised they aren't doing more of the pick and pop for him since he's having so much trouble with the screen and roll.

And can he stop settling for the short jumper and make more aggressive plays to the hoop?

I've been an early settler on Wiseman Island but I was hoping for some improvement based upon his time with the big club and the opportunities to learn about the game from coaches and vets last year even though he wasn't playing. Hopefully his struggles are due to lack of time on the floor but I am a bit concerned that some of the issues that came up in 20-21 haven't changed.
