I want Giannis and Kawhi to lose. Still holding on hope the faster they lose the more likely they will ask out or leave eventually

And go to Jersey or LA?

Austin Rivers ... is not sucking.

God, the Lakers are such a easy team to dislike

Ws could totally have handled this Suns team if they had just held on v. the Lakers. Even with CP3 healthy. Sigh.

Can only blame ourselves

Expand full comment

I blame the Warriors, not ourselves

And the whistles

Expand full comment

They helped us in the second game and we didn't win either

Expand full comment

So the Memphis whistles were relevant to the Lakers game. Who could argue with that take?

Expand full comment

Warriors 20 FTA Grizzlies FTA 26 in a 5 pt game. Warriors 15 FTA Lakers 25 FTA in a 3pt game. So they helped us in the second game by narrowing the FTA gap, got it

If you couldn't see the soft fouls they were giving valanciunas and JJJ, idk what to tell you. We lost because we kept leaving Ja wide open and turned it over a bajillion times. The latter was the same reason we lost against the Lakers

Expand full comment

Like .... who cares? All I did was sigh at the fact that I don’t get to see the Warriors in the playoffs. I wasn’t asking for anyone to rehash their personal blame pie for why they’re not there. Obviously there are always reasons for stuff.

As I predicted, the west is weak. I tuned in for a couple minutes in the LA/PHO series and I can already tell the lakers are gonna be in the finals

Lol I know I'm so conflicted. Like his outburst really doesn't make sense but it's also at Fitz so...

Expand full comment

I get it. I mean, on the one hand, the minimum is all they can really afford, so he's not wrong. On the other ... why does he have to bring up the money at all? It sounds crass, like something a nerdy blog boy would say, not something a professional play-by-play announcer should say. And when you're Fitz ... you don't get the benefit of the doubt.

Expand full comment

I think it's a perfectly reasonable thing to say. Based on the one quote I saw, all he's saying is that bringing back Andre would be great if it's at the minimum. I literally just resaid what fitz did because I don't think there's any more to it lol.

Expand full comment

Did you read my comment? Counting another player's money at all sounds petty and crass, which is why Draymond reacted the way he did. Just say you'd love to have Andre back, and leave it at that.

Expand full comment

It's not counting another players money. It's just stating for this team, we can only give Andre the minimum. Do you disagree?

Expand full comment

Bingo. Fitz sounds like the kind of fan-boy you find around blogs like these lol

Bucks. I love Iguodala but I want Bucks to sweep JuggerNets

Expand full comment

Heat, I think. Our house watched them a lot in the bubble (to root for Iggy and against the Lakers), and I got kinda attached to them. I'll root for Giannis and Jrue in the next round if the Bucks win.

Also . . . how does a player named Duncan Robinson end up on any team other than the Spurs?

Expand full comment

They're waiting to draft Tony Ginobili first before they pull the trigger on the Duncan Robinson trade!

No grudges against Milwaukee?

What about 24-1?

"Bucks ended Golden State Warriors' winning streak Dec. 12, 2015" https://amp.jsonline.com/amp/4409056002

Eh, that was understandable. Of course everyone wants to gun for the undefeated team.. a little trash talk on the side comes with it. Plus that franchise hasn't accomplished anything of significance since god knows when.

Expand full comment

I will never forget that, but I don't think it was grudgeworthy. Mostly just impressive.

Expand full comment

I agree it's not *that* grudgeworthy, but it cones to my mind every time Warriors play them.

The t-shirts was the tipping point, but teah, to their credit they backed it up.

As a Knicks fan since the Willis Reed days, I wouldn't mind seeing them make a run, even uf the owner us a douche.

I am rooting for the Knicks. I really like the energy from the fans. Reminds me of Oracle. The basketball play is really ugly though. Makes you grateful for the Warriors offense.

Expand full comment

I'm not a Bill Simmons disciple or anything but the one thing he said back in the day that stuck with me was that the last two great arenas were MSG and Oracle Arena. Right now we're seeing MSG after the fans were wandering in the desert for like a decade, feels pretty 2013 Warriors-esque.

MSG needs a unique Knicks chant that sounds as cool as the Waaaaaaarrriooooooooorrrss! chant though.

It's probably telling, but I'm not really rooting /for/ any of the remaining teams. Maybe Milwaukee and Denver? There are teams I'm rooting against -- Nets, Clippers, Lakers, Suns.

Jokic vs Giannis would be something!

Expand full comment

Don’t really care, which is unfortunate because there’s less incentive to watch the games.

Expand full comment

Bucks for me. Would like to see Giannis be rewarded for staying in a small market franchise. Plus I’m always rooting for Jrue, that guy is an outstanding human.

Expand full comment

Heat, for Iguodala and hoping that losing to the Heat makes Giannis decide he really does want to be a Warrior after all. But it isn't going to happen.

Ariza is a little punk. I'm still mad at that play on Klay. You know damn well he did that on purpose by the way he extended that knee. He's just mad because he was never good enough for someone to commit a frustration foul on him.

Expand full comment

Ariza did help us out by being one of the key bricklayers during the 0 for 27 Rockets' three ball run. I think he and Danny Green are right at the top of the list of super villains.

Expand full comment

Truly. He should have been kicked out of the league for that knee to Klay's head.

Expand full comment

He also flipped and nearly ended Steph’s career in the same series.

Still think both Steph and Klay started the 2015 Finals concussed and weren’t themselves till a bit later in the series. Absent Ariza’s dirt-baggery, the Ws probably sweep the series.

Expand full comment

Imagine if that flipping happened with the tailbone injury- that could be a major career up-ender and lifechanger. I am so happy that he will get a chance to heal.
