Inspiring article, great! Here's to getting your 'flowers' from the mainstream while simultaneously having to weather the love-fest going on around here for you and the rest of the
What a DUB!! Congrats Daniel and DNHQ! The human element and personality to this sports site are what keeps us coming back for more. Thanks to everyone here for always keeping it real and fun!
I have to post again! I hope you know how much of a lift this site gives me everyday! And I hope you are having a great party to celebrate your awesome award and your brilliant DNHQ selves! The Draymond situation put my spirit on pause but resilience has kicked in and it’s all positive vibes for a win tonight!
“The only thing we really want to see him do is get better so when he comes back, we’re not dealing with the same issues over and over again. And so that was the whole purpose behind indefinite, and when he is ready, then he’ll come back. When we feel like he’s ready, he’ll come back. When the team feels like he’s ready, he’ll come back.”
....
Dumars was not sure if the NBA would choose this kind of punishment again, citing Green’s as a “special situation” because the NBA felt it was more important to give Green time to get help instead of setting a defined number of games away and can’t say whether it would be right for someone else.
...
That has put a newfound onus on Dumars and others in the league office. Dumars said this decision will not be made alone. He and others in the league office are consulting with health professionals, the Warriors, the NBPA and Green.
“He’s been very receptive to this right here,” Dumars said. “He’s not pushed back on this. He has agreed this is what needs to happen. He hasn’t been defiant about this at all.”
After few weeks of therapy, are they going to "test" him? In the end, it will have to be a good faith acceptance of Dray saying "yeah, I am good now; I know how to deal with these situations, etc.".
We will only know once he is on the court again. Hopefully he is learning the tools and also Kerr gives him a short leash - any sign of ref arguing, taunting refs or players, pushing/shoving, Kerr benches him for couple of quarters.
I am very sure that Kerr will not just throw him back into a main role on the team.
I would expect to see something along the lines of 5-10 minutes (more like 5) to start, and then see how he treats the refs. That is really the litmus test, I think ... he's usually OK with his teammates and opposing players.
If he shows he can keep his temper under control, then they'll ramp it up a bit. If not, well, back to DNPs.
are the refs the litmus test? Dray's big controversies & suspensions, including this one, have all come from his treatment of opposing players (Adams/Bron*, Sabonis, Gobert, Nurk)… and I guess one teammate
As always I’m late to the party, damn time difference…. Congratulations! Another proof that writing (mostly) about “just” sports can be quite a gem. 💎 Thank you for your great work, to you and the rest of the gang that keeps this site alive and kicking.
I knew that you would become a great writer ( actually you were already)when I first read your story posted on GSOM Fanpost years ago. I vaguely remember it was your childhood story. I felt like reading a novel.
Can you share that story with DNHQ family since you wrote that story as a fan?
I searched but couldn’t find it to copy the link over here.

Impressive story! I like the part where you choose artist integrity over easy money slop. When you demonstrate respect in your art, your halfway there. People of all walks will gravitate to that vibe, which accounts for why I am here. Congratulations to you and everyone!

You're the best Janet!
Love this comment!
Congrats Daniel and DNHQ. Great story and well-deserved recognition!
Should I post the Celtics team stats here, or should I wait until the game thread is made?
Way to go Daniel and DNHQ!

It starts early. From the Boston Globe:
Draymond Green is serving an indefinite suspension. I'm still not confident he won't attack Kristaps Porzingis tonight. — Amin Touri
Let’s kick their butts - please.
New England Ringless Wannabees will be an endangered species tonight
It's a pretty good line, TBH. :)
No need. Clearly, they are still butt hurt from losing the finals.
😃.
But yeah, we need vintage Steph, Klay, Wiggs and Loon to slay them tonight.
