Netball? Netball!

I'd never heard of it. It's a basketball variant that's been around for 100 years and is primarily played by women and primarily in Commonwealth countries. It's basically like if James Naismith had frozen the game in time, and the actual history is not that far from that. It's also super hard to watch for five minutes because you want them to dribble the damn ball.

I'm in the middle of reading this interesting piece.

Basically, the older win-now draft picks in the late 1st are sticking in the league at a lower rate than the younger picks.

New Classic Edition jerseys revealed today. Nothing too fancy but just a really solid throwback to the 90's era unis. Nice to see the apparel team not experimenting with any weird non-Warriors colors. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7nvzW1Mw_6Q

Given the lacrosse player coming to training camp, (If we HAD to) what athlete from another sport would make a good fit for the 15th spot?

So just thinking out loud here... GP2 was offered about 6.5 mil by the Dubs for next year, the MLE I believe. A 15th roster spot, if the Warriors filled it with a vet minimum, would result in a cap hit of around 1.8 mil.

Now, if the Warriors were willing to pay all that luxury tax on a 15th roster spot for some veteran, conceivably, they could have instead tacked on that 1.8 mil to the 6.5 mil already offered to GP2, which sums up to 8.3 mil. 8.3 mil is pretty much what GP2 is getting from the Blazers next year, according to Spotrac.

I realize there's more at play here, the multi-year contract offered to GP2 by Portland, the impact on signing Wiggins and Poole next year, etc. I also realize that DiVicenzo is earning much less (about 4 mil I think), which comes with huge savings in luxury tax, but the Warriors *did* originally offer 6.5 mil to GP2.

So having said all that, if they filled the 15th spot with some vet min, I'd be pretty disappointed that they didn't offer that extra money to GP2 to see if he stays. It would mean: GP2 on the roster, no DiVicenzo and a 14-man roster. I think I'd like DiVicenzo's fit with the Dubs, but I'm still quite wistful about losing GP2, with all the intangibles that he brought to the Warriors.

Hanging on by a thread.

Not that we are starving for content in this thing they call the off-season, but damn. How many times can I listen to the Lowe Post interview of Steve Kerr. How many times can I watch Windy get intriguingly evasive about Utah? How many times can I watch Perk use sign language to answer the question, "How many more titles will the Warriors win?" You know what they say, "The first thread is free." Next thing you know, you are selling your girlfriends clothes at Buffalo Exchange for a new Explain One Play by the guy selling Apricots on the corner. The cracks of the whips used by Byzantine monks mark the time until a new thread. The Brooklyn Monks roam the streets calling, "Bring out your dead!" while the living scrape their empty bowls.

The off-season. Adam Silver, have pity.

This is what we're showing on repeat inside my Wiseman Island volcano villain lair.

This hits all the right notes as to why the Warriors need to keep Wiseman and why he's far from a bust.

Crusty,

Vergil Ortiz looked good. I still don’t think he’s as polished as they’re trying to push him to be. I think he gets easily outclassed by a Spence or Crawford in that division but even I fear his prospects, Right Now, with some of the next tier boxers

Warriors posted this yesterday, but I didn’t see it shared here yet: Kuminga’s dunk mix tape https://youtu.be/of8LFtTtVOY

A certain member’s gonna need a box of Kleenex because this is straight up basketball porn…and he had all these highlights in less than 1200 minutes.

Curry 7th in odds to win regular season MVP next season with Luka, Embiid, Giannis, Jokic, Tatum & Ja ahead of him. Looks like plenty of fuel for the "Petty King" to use for motivation.

Look, I'm not even standing by it all that energetically myself. I'm not saying it's perfect. I just would like to know if it has any appeal. A fair day in court, as it were.

Nickname proposal: What makes our team great? Our core vets.

*Corvettes.*

Sample usage: "The Warriors went down for most of the second quarter but then Steve Kerr put in his vaunted Corvettes and now they've run the lead up to 20, how about that Reggie?"
