Just watched the first summer league Warriors game. Might be the “Encino Man” factor of low expectations after reading the comments, but Jessup looked pretty decent as a prospect. Horrible on the fast break, not great on ball D. Seamless switching, came off his guy on help D smoothly and on time several times. Good off ball screen, nifty off ball cutting that was rarely rewarded (likely because it’s summer league,) and some sweet passes.

So Sengun looks like a future star...yes, its SL, but damn. Moody will be a stud too no doubt in my mind...and was the better fit...but Wagz and Sengun were my picks for us. We shall see.

Only the NBA would look at their foulfest problem and think the answer is to call more fouls.

Just want to say that the content and discourse on here is awesome. Intelligent and well written authors and everyone treats each other with respect. Reminds me of the golden age of GSoM but better. Great job admins, authors and commentary. (Also just go ahead and give Sleepy an honorary author title since he's basically an unpaid admin {or paid...}.)

After seeing Messi leave Barca, I'm so glad that Steph signed that contract. I'm not even a Barca fan, but that still shook me. Lord knows what I would've done if Steph left the Warriors.

Lord knows what I'll do when he retires lol.

Continuing with my newfound Bjelica fascination, let’s go back at some his draft profiles and…oh my god! Having previously thought of him as a one-dimensional shooter, this guy’s Euro history and skillset suggest he’s been under utilized by WAS and SAC. GSW seems like the perfect place for him.

From https://www.nbadraft.net/players/nemanja-bjelica/

Strengths: An extremely versatile player, capable of playing a number of positions thanks to his size and ability to handle the ball … Has a great feel for the game and makes plays thanks to his natural basketball ability … He is a playmaker and is able to create scoring opportunities for teammates thanks to his great vision, ability to see overtop of defenses and passing precision … He sees the floor well in transition and in the halfcourt, keeping his head up and looking to make reads … Plays the pick&roll well, can shoot overtop the screen, off the dribble, or make the play with the pass … Has become a very reliable shooter, he has extended his range and is now very dangerous from beyond the arc … He is a good spotup shooter, but is much more dangerous creating his shot off the dribble … Shoots a well balanced and good rhythm midrange pullup, making it very difficult to contest because of his size and high release point … Handles the ball with ease, and has a nice mix of change of pace and direction moves … Can play as the primary ballhandler but is also very good in a point-forward type of role … Has a great nose for the ball in terms of rebounding, he hangs around the basket and gets a high number of missed shots … Plays on a fairly bad team, but continues to play the right way without dominating the ball and forcing bad shots …

From Givony:

Possessing outstanding height at 6-10, to go along with an average frame, wingspan and overall athleticism, Bjelica is essentially a point guard trapped in a power forward’s body. He possesses an average first step by NBA standards and isn’t particularly explosive, but is an extremely fluid and coordinated player with a very unique skill-set. Bjelica’s biggest strengths revolve around his terrific ball-handling ability and passing skills. He can grab a rebound and take the ball coast to coast without the slightest bit of hesitation, and is extremely dangerous creating shot-opportunities for himself and others out of pick and roll situations. He does an excellent job of finding the open man in transition, and makes some extremely creative drive and dish passes thanks to his terrific court vision. Watching him play, it doesn’t take long to come to the conclusion that his feel for the game is obviously very good. - Source: http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/nemanja-bjelica-5510/ ©DraftExpress

Man on paper this has been the most accomplished off-season since of course the KD signing especially when you consider bolstering the margins. We got a floor spacing big, a floor spacing wing, and a ball handler. Got rid of Paschal without having to attach an asset AND drafted two talented prospects to go with Wiseman last year. I won't make a playoff prediction quite yet but I can tell you that I'm quite more hopeful for this season than I was last year when I thought the Warriors were NOT a playoff team on paper.

"these two weeks have been packed"

Indeed - a highly entertaining couple of weeks. Compare to some of the offseasons in the past 5 years, almost a snorefest compared to today.

Just the interest in the Summer League games this week.... bring it!
