Here are notes & quotes from a most epic (again!) Draymond Green interview from Warriors practice at Chase Center today, two days before the Utah Jazz come into town. Steve Kerr and Nico Mannion also spoke before Green and they were great and I even got to ask my own questions to them (about Brad Wanamaker), but obviously Dray’s in on another level.

Finally, I take these notes real-time on our Discord server, and usually Kerr or Steph will say the most and go two entries of 2,000 characters maximum each (for Discord). Dray went three entries! The raw video is over 22 minutes long!

Kerith - Ben Wallace: “He should’ve (already) been in the HOF, but people value scoring…the disrespect for Ben Wallace is just unbelievable…hope they do the right thing this year.”

Kerith - DPOY 4x, HOF for you? “I still gotta keep building, I’m not done yet…hopefully add on to the resume…I really wanna make the HOF…but I don’t live every day like I wonder if they’re thinking about me today.”

Kerith - Wallace longevity: “at his size playing that way and back then he’s guarding Shaq, Yao…at some point he had Vlade, at some point he probably had Sabonis…KG…Tim Duncan…different game now…we have some good bigs in this league, but not as many as they had.”

Slater - new rotations: “if it’s gonna help us win games then let’s do it, it’s great to see the young guys get an opportunity…we just gotta go win some games.”

Slater - Wiseman: “I’m not sure if I were the coach I would’ve suspended him over a COVID test…because there’s so much testing, tomorrow we test three times (gives times)…and then we got a 1p game…where it gets tough at is he missed practice…Wise definitely need to practice…but when you look at the entire picture…listen, I think COVID is very serious…I’m not sure me testing 3x in one day is changing anything…like come on man…I blame him though he should’ve got out of town instead of stay in San Francisco…it seems to be getting worse.” 🚨

Slater - what’s the fix? Coming to an end? “We’ve all had enough…I wanna say life back to normal but I guess to say what that normal is gonna be…what is the fix? Idk…I’m no doctor…but just my common sense kinda tells me that 8 to 9, 5 to 6 and 10 to 11, I mean, you never wanna say never but it’s very hard for someone to test positive…and then play a game…daylight savings…idk man…I hope the fans appreciate…a lot goes in.” 🚨

Slater - Wiseman: “he played really well, he could’ve sat there and sulked…we need it (him playing).”

Wes - what test? “Rapid test, PCR”

Wes - what kind of test? “swab and kinda up the nose…can you imagine…getting your skull hit 3x/day (they’re not getting that rn).”

Wes - Wiseman: “kind of slowed down a bit…for him.”

Nick - Wiseman has to play to get better or marinate on bench? “Depends on what he’s learning…definitely learned some lessons…but there’s no better teacher than playing basketball…(if all you did was work out) he’s gonna look like someone that work out all the time than never play basketball…(pickup basketball with NBA players) does not simulate the speed of the NBA…why you see teams send guys to the G League.”

Nick - if Steve asked for opinion? “Steve actually sat down with me and Steph…I didn’t say absolutely nothing…know when to shut the hell up…cool, respect, I left that one alone, that’s coach decision, that’s not for me to give my input…I wouldn’t have sat him down over a COVID test…but he missed practice…I 100% understand that, so I don’t think Steve was wrong…partly because all this testing is just insane…from some disdain from all this testing that we’re doing.” 🚨

Kerith - vaccine? “I know quite a few people that has (gotten vaccinated)…cities opening back up, some states now 100% open…let’s hope we can keep going that way.”

Kerith - lose anyone to COVID? “Uh yeah, Sayeed…anytime I called on him he was there…that was tough, it was just so unexpected and it was towards the beginning like all of this stuff jumping off.”

Haynes - Klay won’t shut up, Steph yelling at team: “he yelled yesterday, yeah Steph can yell, he don’t yell much…he’s yelled at me before…I don’t think I’m really a hard target to yell at…most of the time for things I shouldn’t get in trouble…I don’t mind people yelling at me.”

Slater - Steph: “about shooting the ball, like shoot the ball!!!!!” (POINTS AT CAMERA LMAO!!!!) 🚨🚨🚨

Slater - Steph yelled at you? “Remember I got into with Steve, he yelled at me right then too, yeah he’s yelled at my several times, don’t try to be fooled by Steph” 😂😂😂🚨🚨🚨

Slater - vs Clippers? “The frustration was we were playing soft defensively”

Slater - where are you? “Where am I at as far as us as a team? I’m here…you’re never in a great space losing four in a row…this guy Raymond Ridder email blows up.” 😂

Maria - goals for second half, women’s empowerment: “continue to get better defensively and make my push defensively for DPOY, obviously that requires us to win games…we need to win some games…if we do win games, Steph can also compete for MVP…we need to win games, that is my most important goal…to all the young girls out there…don’t let them tag a month on you…just like BLM…don’t allow them to tag you with this month…empower yourself all tear…don’t let anyone dumb you down to a month…I disagree with WEM and BHM…that’s garbage…women are one of God’s greatest creations…screw that, you’re just as powerful in June, just as powerful in December…I didn’t even know this was WEM until today…(women’s international day) I got this close to posting to women in my life…these women are great every day…it feels like an alienation just like BHM.”
