OT: But I found out that some Blazers fans really hate GP2. For context, I started chatting basketball with a local (I live in Oregon) dude, and GP2 came up. He proceeded to tell me that there is a subset of Blazers fans who wish him ill because they believe he faked his injuries during his time there just to make money while sitting on the bench before he could return to the Dubs.

At least Kerr could have put in Ike in the 2nd quarter to let him put a body on Kessler. All summer long, I was waiting for the W's to announce that they had signed a large defensive man. Nothing.!! But in the meantime, the Celtics got the Knicks guy from last season, the 7 foot Micth Robinson, the Knicks replaced him with the 279 lb Andre Drummond . The Magic have 6'11" 265 lb. Nikola Vukcevic. And there are many more who they could have chased.

And theW's were relying on pencil-shaped Porz to be that guy. Of course, now he allegedly cannot play, because he has come down with POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome), whatever the heck that is.

What a disaster. They are going to face so many teams that have a real Big that will have a runway to the hoop with no one to stop them. One cannot blame Dray for not being able to do anything about it. The W's lost by 23 poins and Kessler had 26. With a proper defender on him, it would have at least been a ball game. This is embarrasing.

One of the reasons Kessler had such a great game is that the Warriors helpside rotations were completely ass last night. Anytime someone had to step up to stop a drive, there wasn't another guy sinking in from the weak side.

Further, you have two elite PnR ball-handlers in Luka and Reaves magnifying the threat of the vertical spacer in Kessler, and that setup is going to destroy any defense that is not super connected and dialed in, regardless of the personnel. Sure, it would help to have a bigger rim protector, but I guarantee you the Warriors aren't the only team that will fall to this type of action, and there will be better teams and better defenders among those that do.

About "the Knicks guy from last season" aka Mitchell Robinson - he signed a 3-year $45M deal with Boston. This was too rich even for the Knicks to keep him without going over the 2nd apron, and they had his bird rights and every other motivation to want to keep him (well, except for his iffy health/availability history... which I'm sure Dub Nation would be howling about as soon as that factor reared its head)

Capwise, there was very little the Warriors could have done to sign a player like that as a free agent.

Could they have signed Drummond for a min? Sure, but this dude is gonna get cooked by Walker Kessler as well, and so is Vucevic. I don't believe Vuc has ever been known as a plus defender/rim-protector, and he's 36 now. Kessler would've eaten his lunch.

I don't know what it is with the Warriors and their bad luck regarding big men.
