Hmmmm. The Cavaliers raced out to a 20-2 lead and destroyed the Golden State Warriors 136-117 in Ohio. The Cavs are coached by former Warriors assistant Kenny Atkinson, and he got a one-up on his former employer in devastating fashion as the Cavaliers took their league best 11-straight wins to begin the season.
Let’s soak this in. Thoughts from Coach Steve Kerr?
Thoughts from the public?
Thoughts from Fear the Sword, the resident Cavs blog on SB Nation?
Former Golden State Warriors assistant coach called Steve Kerr his mentor before the game. Kerr might have passed along too many secrets based on how this one went. The Cleveland Cavaliers were the better team in every aspect as they rolled to a one-sided 136-117 win.
Cleveland’s depth has been an overlooked reason why they’ve been so dominant this season. That showed up again tonight. Okoro’s offense was just as good as his defense. He was comfortably attacking off-the-dribble and from deep throughout the first half. That, combined with Ty Jerome’s 13 second-quarter points allowed the Cavs to continue to extend the early lead they built. They outscored the Warriors 44-20 in the second quarter to take a 41-point lead into the break.
The Cavs were able to cruise to an easy victory from there.
Ah I see. Thoughts form the First Take crew?
Cool cool cool. I know the team is 7-2, but does this loss mean it’s simply time to trade for Giannis? You tell me folks, you tell me!
Rewatching that Ja injury.
Ja got swiped in the head. However, it was also a really really bad lob pass. Before the swipe, the ball was right below the rim, so Ja wasn’t able to get it over the top and hold onto the rim the usual way how players break their forward momentum.
Clipps outlast the Raptors comeback, and the West racks up yet another win over the East, ... now 31-13
