I am more excited about KUZMA to BUCKS/MIDDLETON to WIZ, than a KD ISO-BALL-WHILE-TEAM/STEPH-WATCH return to DUBS. More scoring for BUCKS, more SHOTS for POOLE for WIZ....lol

Might as well just go for it if the price is fair.At least it will be interesting. When Steph and KD come off the books they will have a ton of money to start over.

Just don’t get stupid with the assets traded. Not worth it to trade Wiggs and JK and multiple first round picks. If you trade DG it kind of ruins the whole reunion thing. It ain’t happening.

I am betting Butler ends up in PHX with KD and Booker and the Warriors are further screwed.

Expand full comment

Well... that's the thing, right? What counts as "fair" is very different for you, me, MDJ, Lacob, Ishbia, and Jones...

Expand full comment

Only way that happens is if Beal leaves, which doesn't seem like it's in the cards. But, I'd be fine with Booker, KD, Butler in Phoenix

Butler's played 50% of the games this season (mostly injury-related). Good luck getting through two months of playoffs with him. Very little chance they get a chip with that roster, and they'll be paying Butler for two years after this one (assuming he insists on the extension).

Yea but playoff Jimmy will rise and the combo of KD, him and Booker will upend the West. Just ask him.

In all seriousness, if and this is a big if, playoff Jimmy did happen they would be tough to beat.

I cant believe how hard it must be for players right now. I would not be able to sleep thinking I might have to go to a new city tomorrow to work!

That being said, I love that all this trade stuff has pushed the superbowl and the NFL to the background - i think this i going to be the first superbowl that I will NOT watch a live broadcast of!

>>>Luka Dončić is not happy with the Dallas Mavericks after his landscape-altering trade to the Los Angeles Lakers that shocked the entire NBA community.

"He portrayed nothing today, but from what I understand, he is seething at them," ESPN's Brian Windhorst said during Tuesday's Pardon the Interruption. "And the fanbase is seething at the team in a way I've rarely seen before. ... I suspect Mr. Dončić will be looking at all Dallas games very, very closely going forward."<<<

Mavs are 1-0 against the Lakers this season so far. Both teams will play against each other two more times this season:

2/25- Lakers vs. Mavs

4/9- Mavs vs. Lakers

These contradictory posts are hilarious. "So-and-so let nothing slip about their emotional state, but from what I understand, they are apoplectic." Lol.

There's a dizzying amount of rumor/speculation around Kevin Durant this morning. Many folks around the league believe (emphasis on *believe*; no one certain) he'll be dealt, tho destination unclear.

But FWIW, Suns beat guy Duane Rankin reports that Durant, Beal and Nurkic are all at shootaround.

Jonathan Kuminga just wrapped up an individual shooting workout in Utah at the Warriors’ optional morning shootaround. First court workout he’s done in front of reporters since ankle sprain in early January. @anthonyVslater

not really, JK was not on this photo, but his name was not mentioned as being missing like - wiggs, looney, hield, waters. I actually thought JK might just be sitting in the bay rehabbing!

Question now is are those four also at workout in Utah?

None of them are listed as "out", so you can be pretty sure they're in the arena...

“Steph’s prime” is long gone. He’s still great, of course, but I think the cheat code has been patched.

Also, we should probably stop talking about “the 12-3 Warriors” as if that was something more than fresh legs on the old guys, gimmicky defense, and unsustainable 3-point shooting.

Now, I’m ok with the general strategy of riding with Steph into the sunset, knowing anything past the second round of the playoffs is unlikely, and then going full rebuild, but that only works if we keep most of our post-2026 picks and at least some of our more promising young players.

Expand full comment

I just want to see him in the playoffs in meaningful games. If goes out to the new generation in a game 7 in the 2nd round...it will feel right. Going out barely making the play-in is not how I want to see this story end

Uggh. You and your "reality." I'm so tired of reality. Do you have to keep bringing it up? I far far prefer fantasy, it's much more fun over here.

"[Amick] Mixed messaging where, as you guys know, there's a lot of times layers to these kind of talks where the formal indication is, 'We are not coming off Kevin Durant,' but behind the scenes, they're finding ways to make it clear, 'Well, if you gave us the entire package, maybe we do.'"

Expand full comment

There are many things we don’t know, but we do know this much:

1. Kerr and Gregg Popovich are very close. They are able to trust each other to not talk to anyone else.

2. The Spurs need an upgrade at the guard position.

3. The Warriors need an upgrade at the center position.

4. The salaries of Dennis Schroder and Victor Wembanyama match are compatible and as of today Schroder can be traded.

5. Schröder and Wemby hail from Germany and France, respectively.

6. Those two modern-day countries were once united as part of the Carolingian Empire under the rule of Charlemagne and later Charles the Fat.

7. The Carolingian empire was partitioned in the Treaty of Prüm, signed the 19th of September 855, almost exactly 1,138 years to the day before Dennis Schröder was born (15 Sept, 1993).

8. Type the number 1138 into a calculator and turn it upside down, and it appears to spell the word “Bell.”

9. And who was the “belle of the ball” at the 2023 NBA draft? Victor Wembanyama.

OK, I know we have different ideas of the best moves for the warriors moving forward. I just hope that whatever happens, after the trade deadline we still remain one Dub nation, under a groove.

With regards to trade and rumors and the deadline I would just like to make this point: no matter what happens, what might happen, what is being negotiated, or who actually traded today, the reporters are still gonna write whatever they want regardless of it's accuracy as long as it captures clicks.

Agreed but the word "reporters," while it is the one used, really doesn't apply at that point. "Rumor-mongerers."
