OT: Clippers lost by 3 to Spurs with PG out due to ankle issue. So Clippers may be hungry for a win. But with SEGABABA (Kawahi played 37 min), may be we Eke out a win especially if PG is not able to suit up.
Warriors Curry-less unit was -1 in the second quarter, +7 to start the fourth (while the game was still semi-competitive). Overall with garbage time was +1, second game in a row. Paschall at center has been a gamechanger for the team so far.
The Warriors can still get better just by playing Draymond more as he gets back into shape, as he's currently not playing the full first or third quarter. But perhaps they will try to cut down his minutes a bit now that he's 30? That three pointer looked good to me, I wonder if all the time off helped his shoulder issues at all?
If Draymond is healthy, JTA being on the active roster or not is a tell on whether the Warriors take their opponent seriously. They did not take the Kings seriously.
This is the sort of "best case" Warriors team that I think most people expected; decent defense, a lot of guys getting to the rim. They probably won't hit 53% of their 3s most nights (I know, going way out on a limb there). The Clippers should be a better test than the Kings or Blazers since they actually play defense.
Funny, Warriors attempted only 14 free throws to the Kangzβs 39. Knew they shot more, but not that it was that bad. That and the 41 assists, stellar D, and 23/43 from 3, make this a real throwback dynasty game.
Remember when they used to say "If Draymond makes his threes, the Warriors win?" Well, he made his first three, and the rest is on the scoreboard.
I'm worried about Steph, though. He didn't even score half as much on the second night of the b2b, not even making it to his season average. He might need some more load management. I'm thinking we should play Mannion and/or Poole in the 4th quarter whenever possible. ;)
Continue to be surprised that Paschall as smallball 5 is working out as well as it is. Looks like he learned a thing about certified big dude Hassan Whiteside tonight, but overall his rebounding was much better and having him at center seems to negate his defensive weaknesses significantly. Despite what he gives up in height he has the strength to not get bullied for position so he's making that 2nd unit work more like the Rockets' favored "not tall but not small" Tuck Wagon unit.
Very happy Oubre finally had a good shooting night on top of continuing to play great defense nad hustling for boards, etc. It goes a long way to making this team competitive if he knocks down open looks. First time I've seen him miss a dunk, though.
Wiseman continues to come along. Starting to feel like this kid is something really special.
Wiggins had another game of looking exactly like the guy this team was hoping he would be: can get his own shot and knock it down at a decent rate, uses his length and quickness to be a terror on defense... best of all, his drive & kick game is a legitimate weapon. Past few games Wiggins vs. past few games D-Lo? That trade is starting to look light years after all.
Bazemore had some nice passes and definitely looked more under control again. He fits well on that Paschall-centric second-quarter unit.
Lee & Looney had quiet but solid games. They definitely brought the hustle, energy, and wisdom to keep Sac from getting back in it.
Wanamaker looked a little lackluster. He notched some assists but there were a few other times where I feel like he missed the open guy and didn't feed the hot hand, though half of that was in garbage time anyway.
Mulder crushed the 3-point line in garbage time, but looked a little outmatched when he got some spot minutes earlier. He did not look fast or crafty enough to keep up with, or get around, the Kings starters. Still, having a guy who shoots 100% on open threes is gas gas gas for Project 4Q Load Management.
Poole looked pretty OK in garbage time. This was his best shooting night in a while, but the Kangz bench did not look interested in bringing the competition by the time he got off the bench.
KD quarantine for a week. This season is very fragile. I wonder how long until we have a team outbreak or just contact tracing quarantines where a team doesnβt have enough bodies to compete. The rockets had 1 already

I think Kerr found his preferred closing lineup with Poole and Mannion!

I am still chuckling about Dray jumping up and down when he had enough with people being out of place. Loved it.
I think a split with the clippers would be good.
41 assists for the Dubs tonight. 7 guys with 3 or more. These guys are having a lot of fun on O and it's rubbing off on D (thanks Dray).
I wish we had gifs here, because a Beeker (the muppet) clip would be great for Mannionβs first bucket
Well that was fun. Nite boys & girls

Our garbage time lineup beats the dynasty garbage lineup. True or false?
